you need to mod your .ic file located in tpa/preset/system/icon folder in the file system of your phone.

SE Theme creator/text/input text. I will double check this later.
EDIT: This won't work as it is now but you can use a .xml file to remove the white background in sms editing but that will make the conversation list dissappear.
