Weird. Why not include a 3.5mm jack in both? Especially the Zylo which seems to be better packaged? :?

Posted by Dups!
@se_dude

Looks like SE just went through the motions putting these together cause that also is puzzling me.

Anyone with an idea as to when the full touch walkman is to be announced?

Posted by gola
Nothing new here, just your good old simple SE walkman phone with a minor twist...

Posted by mauro99
whats the originin name with letter and numbers like Aino was U10i?

Posted by mustafabay
Definitely don't get Zylo's lack of 3.5mm when it adds FLAC.

add, or at school and we have a winner.

More information on FLAC support.

Posted by >500
nothing new here? um pardon me if im wrong. but FLAC support is not found in any other phone on the market??? a blessing for true audiophiles, its one of the more popular formats amongst them!!!

and before people start crying that these arent high end, well, have to cater for other markets too you know, not just high end.

the absence of the 3.5m jack is strange. but i suppose if the phones are for the 'kids', its no biggie for them. When i see the young ones listening to their phones, they use the standard included earphones 9/10 times. of course for the hardcore music listener its a bit of a bummer!

But FLAC! ACE!!!

edit: Q3, quite long a wait for the sort of phones they are.... o well. doesnt phase me, im not buying one...

And again. FLAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lets hope they bring that support into other phones in the near future

preloaded with sound so consumer can pretend? means users can listen to music as while walking? what so special about that?

Posted by >500
@wiraperkasa
id say theres a little more to it then just 'sounds'... otherwise they wouldnt be mentioning it lol

Posted by xell
Well, they're cheapish: 109€ resp. 179€ here in Germany.

Mind you, that's rrp. Market price is ~20% less.

It means that when you are chatting away to someone on your phone you can play a sound that will be heard in the background that both you and your caller can both hear. So the person you are chatting to might think you are sat in a restaurant if you choose to play the restaurant sound.

Spiro uses 3.5mm jack and miniUSB, while Zulo has fastport?

Posted by tranced
Yes, it's a little weird. Also one thing I noticed is the new browser that Spiro has. Is this a S2 phone?

I had to login in just to say WTF. They seriously messed up with the connectors for both phones. First they're backwards, second seeing how the Zylo is a mid-range W995, it seriously should have the 3.5 jack. Anyway, looks like they updated A2, again.

I think the Sagem platform.

Puzzled about that one, too. It doesn't have Exchange, so it's definately no A2, but the Media Menu seems to be there, so it's not the Sagem platform as we know it either. I think some new low-end platform from either Sagem or SE.

Anyway, quite nice additions, but a bit too expensive if you see Nokia has smartphones including Wi-Fi and GPS for €130....

Both of the phones are A2. And have Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Spiro has Obigo browser.

Posted by tranced
I just asked if Spiro was a S2 because of the browser. Just the S2 phones have a different browser than the usually netfront browser.

Really? The press release doesn't state ActiveSync in the Spiro spec list. Well, the Dutch one anyway...

Or it may be Arima?

Posted by mode
Spiro really isn't for many who frequent this forum, but there's a whole other market out there that might find it appealing. I read somewhere before (can't recall where, sorry) that SE's best selling phones are actually the entry level W's. Weird but true What I can't fathom though is why SE is adamant at limiting the sellability of their own product by maintaining the proprietary fastport instead of 3.5mm jack on Zylo. WTF.

Well, if that is true, it is luckily updated. Cause the media menu wasn't there and the UX-look everywhere is good too imo

Posted by Bonovox
Apparently Sagem are releasing an Android phone next year

Posted by HxH
something like W205 mini Walkman but upgraded it named "Spiro" not bad as Sagem but didn't match with A1

Well, a theme is a theme... which media menu?

Posted by Enci1983
I think Zylo and Spiro are needed, wanted phones that all SE users a must have category. Especially for Walkman users. They look familiar with W205 and W395 but they not Sagem clones, like W205 never was a half Sagem. Only the W395 the S302 and the S312 was half a Sagem product. Never mind. Millions of people were waiting for new Walkman phones, now they get it. Nokia released C3, C6 and E5, who the fu.k cares, they say, we got Zylo and Spiro. Since these two sliders appeared 250 million hits were on the search engines looking for more information about them. Infact since 2005, 130 million Walkman phones were sold and it's still on growing. Maybe they mid-range, but they were wanted desperatly. If u believe it or not. Bye

Pretty shure it's a bit more. But else, it's a theme indeed. But that IS something that you can't edit in the Sagem phones.

The media center thingy, with the gallery and the walkman player integrated in it, you know. With the bubbles from the right and the playstation-like interface.

I see loads of black W995s and W595s (which seem to come in a myriad of different colours) when I am out and about but I'm glad they're keeping the Walkman theme going in their phones.
