The best phone ( exept Satio, but it's smartphone, so it's in other group ) !!! This phone rocks!
If Aino is cheaper that Satio, I'll get this one, though.

The A300 platform is amazing! Look - http://se-community.com/index.php?s=205 - the UI look like the G-series' UIQ.

Thats Yari! Unless of course it does have A3.

Looks interesting, it is still a pitty that SE still can't deliver the items on the announcement day. It is showing as 6 months on the SE website. Why can't these be available when they announce them. This is one thing Apple has down pact. The Apple WDC is June, where supposedly rumoured iPhone 3 will be announced (or not), but if it is you could probably walk into O2 on the day and get one. Walk into a store and ask for Aino, you will be told come back in 6 months mate

Come on SE, given the current climate as well these days, it would seem imperative to get the items in the store and into customers hands who want them. I generally am still a fan of the products, but I loathe the waiting times on these things.

Anway, this is still interesting, especially if they keep the bluetooth headphones in the package and aren't dropped like with the W960. I wonder if the controller features an OLED screen or a screen of some sort.

It is also interesting that the specs show MicroSD card rather than M2. Does this then that M2 is on the way out? Also interesting if this is using the Jave platform with touch UI rather than Symbian than Satio. I wonder which will be more stable platform.

Yes, the phone in the video is Yari, but it uses A3 too. However the A3 actually isn't that great than I thought.

"Music listening time: Up to 31 hours"

Are they going to use DSP in this phone?
W995 has smaller screen and it can play music for about 20 hours, so I think 31 hours sounds very impressive

Posted by Zuckabaecka
i think they mean 3.1hours

Sound and vision and no TrackID?!
Now that's an unbelievable slip to say the least!

This being an official press release, TrackID missing is hardly a typo...

This is a K750 SONYERICSSON WITH SLIDE....... Such a same...

Still no creativity... no innovation...

No future features .... only future and expensive toys...

PlayStation Remote Play

Bit of an odd thing, especially if you don't have a Playstation 3. Why not some standard protocols or maybe some software for non PS3 users that can simulate this stream from a PC say or what have you.

Well quick Google found this:

Open Remote PLay Beta PC / Mac

I wonder how well this will work then using the Remote Play on the phone. Hmmm.

I wonder if SE has missed a trick here, PS3 Remote Play + Yari gaming sounds like a possible step to a PSP branded phone. They have done it with their Walkman brand and Cybershot, so why not PSP or Playstation.

Cheers,

I'd have waited for this phone if they just included a damn 3.5mm jack

Posted by 10123
Sony eicsson Aino will cost £400 (457 euros) sim free on release.

I want. This is the favourite for me.

no 3g camera call?? oh that's for fun ... for sure............

Posted by goldenface
Not the end of the world - is that a deal breaker for you?

Posted by roanmy
I can live without 3.5mm jack on the phone as I'll probably use iPod anyway as I'm addicted to my Top 50 played-playlist!

As long as there doesnt come up any nasty surprises about this phone, it|s definatly the one for me!

the "0" keys is the space now, the "*" key is the + sign and the "#" key shifts from upper case to lower case/lock

That is 100% completely retarded. This is nothing like a K750! You've left dickhead comments on all three of these announced phones today. If you don't like them, that's fine but you don't need to go round spreading this crap.

I think this phone is awesome. My favourite of the ones announced today, though I only wish it had a sideways sliding QWERTY.

No oled, sucks ! No 3.5 mm jack, unforgivable !

somewhere it was said that you can't use the touch screen to browse the menus,
but only for media and camera features !

Good to know I'm not the only one that thinks it would've looked/been better if it was a landscape qwerty slider Oli

This is what seems the real deal breaker... I was quite impressed with Aino at first but the moment I read "touch UI in media mode", I got really confused and if the touchscreen works only in Media Mode then this phone will dissapoint many including me...

Can anyone confirm this???

That. Is. Slick! The screen looks like they stretched A3 quite a bit but okay. And wow it looks like it cam straight out of Japan.

They'd better make sure the while interface is touch.
But no OLED is the right thing to do. Some people actually go out in the sun.

I love this one, nice to see a regular keypad, nice colours too.

Thank goodness the Global Home site claims the logical: the lovely AINO (me wants!) has TrackID!
This feature is so handy that it should have been made compulsory in all phones the moment it was introduced
Since it has become common, I guess the PR people didn't bother mentioning it in the press release.

AINO pretty much rocks! The most appealing of today's trio in my book.

Cheers!

I don't believe that for a second. That would mean that you need the slider out for everything because the navigation keys are on the slider. Sony Ericsson wouldn't do that. I'm very sure that what you heard wasn't true.

Posted by laurenke01
Nope it's very true:

It will also have limited touchscreen functionality thanks to the 3" capacitive touchscreen 16M color display of WQVGA (432 x 240 pixels) resolution.

By "limited" we mean that you can actually "touch" your way around only in the special touch-optimized multimedia menu and the camera.

From GSM Arena. They have a prototype.

Posted by tranced

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
Proto maybe? I mean, with SE's current track record it is very likely they have messed this up, but I don't honestly see how anyone could be that dumb as to not have the navigation on the top if it were that important to the phone!

Posted by hihihans
@tranced, make that 2 happy customers

Posted by tranced
see? cannot satisfy everyone.

Posted by Mizzle
That's one of the things I meant with them being off on a few points. The limited touch screen.

Posted by Legen
kinda true. but people must admit, its pretty decent phone

Posted by justus333
It´s a very pretty and decent and blalabla phone but the lack of TS is such a dumb move by SE that it hurts! Almost like building a beautiful grand piano but without the keys!
It really quite clearly and unmistakenly explains why SE is a dying company. What a shame and pity, as stlyishwise they´re still the best by far!
