Hi all,
Been on XDA Developers earlier and a new version of TouchFlo for the X1 has been released.
Highlights are:
- YouTube link fixed
- TaskManager (x-button)
- Flash3

As some of you already know, I have been running and using TF for a couple of weeks on my X1 without any major incidents.
So I will be installing and testing the new version over the w/e and will report back here.

Cheers mate, been using TF3D for a few days and quite like the features like the stocks and weather.
Though since getting SPB GPRS monitor I have gone back to using the today screen, as nice and easy to keep an eye on how much data your using that way

No problem - have just installed the new version (already) couldn't wait, you can tell I work in IT, lol. So far so good, only took 10 mins to install. Writing a review as I check out the issues from the last version now.

looking good here and though I wasn't particularly interested in the previous version, this one is vaguelly more interesting now that youtube is working as its a better implementation than comes it coreplayer

Hi all,
I have successfully installed the newest version of TouchFlo 3D,and in summary, it's the same as the previous version with some problems fixed.
Overall it’ll be staying on my Today Panel
. In fact because the panels are (currently) so slow, I only use the TouchFlo Skin and navigate everything from there. Putting my most used programs in the “Programs” tab (of which you can put 24 icons).
Firstly for those interested & newbies to Windows Mobile, below I have a “how to install” section. This includes how to un-install the previous version. If you install it and don’t like it, you can un-install, using the same instructions below.
Review Highlights
============
- YouTube link works!
- Slightly newer look/interface than first X1 TouchFlo version
- Fast & light touch scrolling (as before)
- Excellent weather panel (with customizable Cities)
- Excellent integrated music player (with Audio Boost for those who need it)
- High Volume Level on Music Player
- Highly useable “People” panel
- Fast panel response for message/email links
Old issues
-------------
- Music Playlist could not be created – FIXED (can add separate songs, but haven’t figured out how to do it with whole albums yet)
- Slow to install – FIXED (takes only 10 mins)
- bit slow to load panels with lots of information, initially – NOT FIXED (same behaviour, improves after each use with more information cache’d)
- Could not browse external memory card photos/videos – FIXED (but extremely slow – so far)
- Screen doesn’t expand in Landscape mode for any function (half of the screen puts lines across it, but does eventually recover – doesn’t prevent functions from working correctly though)
New issues
--------------
- Album/Picture Browser – extremely slow….. painful actually. However you can set your favourite album, so it starts from your most used location
- Existing loaded weather Cities wiped out (minor as you can re-add your own set)
- Can’t add entire albums to playlist (at the moment)
Tips
-----
- install on X1 device to improve speed
- increase cache size in registry using a program like SmartReg or XperiaTweak
- shutdown programs that you are not using, to keep available/useable memory high
- speed & usability increases with use, so be patient whilst it learns and cache’s your keystrokes
How to install
==========
Prep.
If you’ve installed a previous version, un-install it “before” installing this version, as installed they take up approx. 62Mb. Also you can’t just install it over the old version, as it has been re-compiled (probably) by a different developer. Also it does take a while to un-install so don’t do it if you’re in a rush or expecting a call. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

To un-install:
---------------
1. Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items (tab) -> (untick TouchFlo 3D)
2. Start -> Settings -> System (tab) -> Remove Program. Select TouchFlo (will take a while)
3. Reboot (well it is Windows, lol
)
To install:
-----------
1.
Once you’ve downloaded the Touch-IT_Blackstone_Manila_HD_FULL.cab file to your PC, transfer it to your X1 using ActiveSync, Bluetooth or put it on a Micro SD memory stick if you prefer. I used ActiveSync to internal memory – in theory it should install faster from there.
2.
Click on the cab file and follow the instructions. Being a shell for the O/S, I think it should be installed internally. This is where I installed it before and it never froze or had any speed issues, once cache’d (with old version anyway). This took 10 minutes on my X1, where before it took 45 minutes!
3. X1 will auto-reboot & your today panel will automatically become your TouchFlo 3D panel.

Nope afraid not, it has an "Audio Boost" button, which acts as a sort of Bass boost. Works quite well, if that's what you're after

Ive installed the touchflow but its not working after the restart it shows windows standard today screen.
It is in remove program list but its not woring

I tried it for a while, but it tended to make X1 a bit unstable.
1. Phone boot takes a lot longer
2. When using other panels than Today and using Start-Today to go back to main panel display after using other applications, sometimes only TouchFlo comes up and i can't use panel's primary display. Restarting the panel usually fixes it.
3. Aforementioned nonworking horizontal display, very annoying.
4. Opera thends to crash much more ofter, because on Flash?
5. When launching applications from TouchFlo, phone sometimes hangs. Static ball, no input accepted.
I guess it needs a bit more polish, very usable otherwise.
Maby setting up TouchFlo as a standalone panel would make it even more practical, if it's possible.

but landscape mode doesnt work..
and what to do then it freezes to death??? So i have to take out a battery. :/ maybe there is another way?
It likes to freeze a lot like 4 times in a hour of use.

I had the time problem, are you using Xperia tweak to set TF3D as the startup panel ? i stopped using XT for panel use and it is now OK again.

technically, for the x1, its a today add in which actually replaces the today screen and provides functionality that also covers quite a bit of other built in functionality and also add some extras not found in default WM

I used this for about a day but found it too processor hungry for my liking and decided to remove it. You cant remove it via the phone and have to do so via PC... which took 15 minutes. I might try it again one day when it is updated to support landscape mode.

Of course you can remove it via the phone, it's just an application. For future reference:
1. Untick TouchFlo within the Today Panel
2. Settings -> Remove Programs -> select TouchFlo, then remove.
Done.

Hi!
I've tried it. Made it work but it was i bit laggy. Then the freezing started. I had to soft reset (under the batterycover) several times. No good. Uninstalled it. Waiting for improovment. maybe I did something wrong? It looked really nice though.....

u can remove it. u need to uncheck it from the today screen options first or else it wont ever uninstall
Settings< Today< Items< Uncheck touchflo3d
then uninstall normally. it should work then

I uninstalled it that way. It worked. Took a long time though...maybe 45 min till it was gone. Be patient!:)

I like TF3D but it cripples the rest of the phone. Everything is sooooo slow.
