I'm a newbie here. i'm an indonesian. here the cost relatively cheap, 1.1 rupiah/kb. my phone is se k508i (maybe it's too late for me to still use that old phone) and i'm using im3 from indosat. i always spend too much when i'm browsing in my opera. do someone know any tips for decreasing my gprs cost (or even make it free at all!)? reply as soon thx.

Here in the Philippines, we can browse the Internet for free using Opera Mini mod v2.06. We're just configuring the network settings.

Right now, I'm using a mod version of Opera Mini 4.1 which I actually created. I edited the network settings on the jar file itself.

are you sure? can you please tell where can i download them?
will it create a big loan next time? (i don't wanna get a big loan as a result for getting free now!)

I have them but I'm not sure if it will work in your country because it depends on the network provider. But I heard that some of the Indonesians were able to make it to work as well using Opera Mini mod versions. Give me your email address and I'll send you the jar files. I'll send you the Opera Mini mod v.206 and I'll help you out with the network settings configuration.

i've send you my email addr via private message (you'd better check your pm!)
do you wanna attach the jar file in the email? i usually check my email account by opening mail.yahoo.com via opera, not directly from email service in my phone. can i use it? how?

(sorry for making too much question, but thanx you! god bless u!)

i already read your pm. i'll be sending you the jar file for opera mini mod 2.06. give the following info so that i can give u the settings:

- homepage of your network provider
- a free wap site that you can browse

@dennevhyn_31, you can modify now the jar file?

I will sent you a pm...:-)

my network homepage:
wap.indosat.com

i actually don't know what wap address is free to surf, so can you (or anyone) give me some suggestion?
one more thing, can i download the jar file directly from my phone (by visiting mail.yahoo.com of course)

thx so much, dennevhyn_31, god bless u

Jar files aren't hard to modify... You just use WinRAR to open it and edit the files inside with other apps.

I'M GETTING TIRED!
the email account for downloading the jar attachment and has been spending lot of cost and hour for it but it didn't work! it says 'yahoo didn't support your browser' or even 'forbidden! you are restricted to open the page'

is there anybody can help me?

@strizlow800: yah, they are not hard to edit if you have winrar installed on your computer. the jar file is still ok if you're only gonna edit the manifest.mf file but if you're gonna edit the class files, it will say application error after installation on the phone. how about you? were you able to edit the class files using winrar without any problems?

Haven't god a need for that... But a java development kit (software) may be able to open then and leave them still working in the phone. I think they get corrupt when opened with notepad because of the encoding notepad applies while editing them...

@masseur: do you know any software that i can use to open and edit jar files? i'm editing jar files on notepad but it always get corrupted if i'm gonna edit the class files. no problem when only editing the manifest.mf file. any recommendations?

I'm a developer but its been a few years since I've done java seriously, but if I remember correctly, I'd suggest that you consider that maybe you have edited a signed jar file and therefore probably corrupted the checksums which I think are stored in the manifest

I'm really quite rusty but this might give some clues

@masseur: i'm actually a programmer as well but i haven't created jar files before. i have knowledge on java, c++, vb and php&mysql. but i just don't know how to create jar files.
