k800i problem - Esato archive

Hi ive signed up to try and figure out whats wrong with my phone. hope someone can help!
Ive just been given a k800i from my friend and it was locked on 3g so i had it unlocked as im on o2. The phone worked perfectly before but since the unlock, when i select a game or connect the phone to my computer and press file transfer it just resets itself! im confused i dont know what to do about it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Try to perform a Master Reset on the phone. Just go to Menu>Settings>General>Master Reset. The default phone lock security code is 0000. After resetting it, check if the same problem will occur.

ok ill have a try! this might sound stupid but it wont affect the fact that the phone is now unlocked will it?

Ive tried a master reset but it is still doing the same! it resets itself on all games and applications and when connecting to pc. is there anything else i can do? could it be a problem with the Java settings on my phone?

Yah it can be a problem on the Java settings but I think the best way to solve this problem is to update the firmware for your phone. Try to search and download the latest firmware for Sony Ericsson K800i.

@scotthomer6: does your phone still have a warranty? go to a service center of sony ericsson so that they can check it.

It wont make you feel any better but i bought my k800 on o2 and it resets randomly! Always has, the store i bought it from could not give me any memory for it so i had always believed it to be the problem. I am no doubt wrong on this one. It usually resets whilst browsing, and although at least twice a day if in use, not enough to make me want to break it. Yet!

my k800 resets itself too....
but randomly...
it stops for like 2 weeks after you updated the sistem..
i used to reset the sistem every 2 weeks but i gave it up... it's not worth it

My Sony Ericsson sorts of resets too. The screen just flashed white and then I observed the reset - like checking for the network provider signal and showing the current profile - its weird!
