Well I'll reply

Just looked through, very good review, I do like the Diamond still gggrrrrr. I don't know as they have done a lot to get rid of the crappy Windows interface. SE seems to have done a fantastic job with the X1 though in this area. But the touch has a rubbish battery, trade off for the size?

No technical expert opinions on it? shocking

Nice review
Just a word about those words in "omnia over diamond":

"
# Landscape QWERTY keyboard (Diamond has one but only in browser)
# Auto screen rotation is available in all applications and can be switched off
"

That's not true anymore, there's now a little program called "Gsen" that allows auto screen rotation in every application, using the G-sensor. I don't get why HTC didn't activate it by default though

For me design-wise the Samsung wins. As for other things I would have to mix and match but the HTC would provide a bulk of the features.

Looks wise, I would have to say the HTC Touch Diamond, as I think the samsung have copied some of the looks of the iphone.

still both got slow menu's due the use of WM
aaarght hurry up with your android release

@pmerryman

True, but they made the design look even better than the iphone IMO. I just love it!

There's nothing inherently slow about WM - in fact if they stripped off all their own Touch guff and just used the WM interface, both phones would be lightning fast. It's the optimisation of their own software that's the problem here, and will doubtless dog their first Android efforts too.

IMO alot of the samsungs look very similar, and this one fits into this category.

I read the 9 page review, and I appreciate the amount of detail that was put into it.

Both phone have their gripes indeed. However...I still prefer the Samsung. My only wish is that they'd fix the screen resolution. Why waste all that screen real estate making the smaller Diamond beat it in almost every screen test? That is a huge mistake. The Omnia just needs a bit more polish but other than that the longer battery life, better cam, better processor, and faster UI are deal makers for me. I don't want to compromise.
