the other day, i was driving most of the time hence i have to use the wired handsfree ofteb. it is so annoying that for about 3 times, the phone's display just turns completely white during a call. turning it off with the power key is not possible. i have to remove and then reinsert the battery. could this be a hardware problem?

what could be the problem? my phone's firmware is already the latest. any ideas?

I've had this prob before but it happend when I turned on the phone, maybe its the same thing. I had it repared at vodacom and they told me it was a virus, but that was hard to believe because I formatted the whole phone and mem card before I had it repaired. It worked again after the repair, but it started doing the same thing after a while. I updated the firmware (although it was the newest I said update anyway) and it was fine from their on.

Which firmware you have in your phone?

Older firmwares containing bugs can cause problems like yours... You can try master reseting the phone or flashing the firmware... See here:

my phone is already cid53. i can only update via seus. when attempting to update via seus, it always says that i already have the latest software installed.

my firmware is already R8BF003
EROM: R3A022

the white screen is a known problem, some people i know with the same phone have also had this. my phone turns white and resets at least once or twice a week when being used. I still dont have a memory stick, i used to think it reset when it ran out of memory, but i think it may be random. My k800i is using the last official release, R1KG001.

Now it's not only the white screen syndrome of the K800i that is giving me problems.

When I woke up this morning, the phone is totally dead. It will not turn on, and it will not charge. I brought it to the service center and they said that it is a software problem. they said that they are offline at the moment and it will take about two days to have my phone fixed.

the repair center said that it is not software, something's wrong with the phone.

and it will take about three weeks to have it repaired,

If you have CID53 phone it doesn't mean that it can be updated only with SEUS... You can use Far Manager and JdFlasher plugin which has CID53 DB2020 flashing support. See this tutorial:

download firmware from http://www.4shared.com

unfortunately, the SE center here said that it is not a software problem. they took it to their main repair center. no update yet as of this time,

Well ok then... I still think it is software problem. It can be hardware related also... The handsfree contacts may be making some unwanted contact with the motherboard or whatever... It happens a little hardware issue to make big problems like this, you know.

Thanks, I just hope that my phone be repaired soon. even if the k800i's display is not that bright, it is still way better than the display of my nokia 6680 which i am forced to use again.

Of course. K800 might be only 262l display, but it uses vivid colors. In most cases is far better than many nokia phones displays.
