Hi all,

I have recently bought a nokia 8600 with a fault.

For some reason when i try to open the camera it says operation failed :s

Anyone have any ideas on the problem?

How long you had it? If its still within 14 days you should return it its obviously faulty.

Software fault, happened on alot of S40 handsets.

If you bought it from a shop, take it back.

If you bought it privately, take it to your local Nokia repair centre or post it to them.


Or find someone who can flash it with different software, but then you run the risk of killing it completely.

Wow, i thought that message only appeared on SE phones. Maybe it's got SE firmware

Did I say any local shop could reflash it? No, so they can't


A Nokia repair centre (look it up on their website for a list), or send it to Nokia themselves.

If you bought it in a shop, take it back to that shop (and only that shop). If it's under 14 days old, they should exchange it, if it's over, they'll send it away for repair which takes a couple of weeks give or take.

Its been opened up in the past tho
