Hi I need help - I have tried to search for info on this topic by cannot find one. I just got a SE P1i and have tried using the wifi with no problem. The only problem is that how do I know which connection (wifi, 3G, wap) is the phone using to connect to the internet - is there an indication/place I can look?

I got a nasty shock recently when I got my phone bill charging me an obscene amount for using 3G. I have always used wifi and not 3G but apparently it seemed the phone will automatically disconnect from wifi and jump to 3G/wap without me knowing it. Most wifi in our area is foc and 3G is very expensive.

Can someone please tell me how to check which connection is the internet on when I am online?

Thank you - Kym

open the Connections Manager to see which connection is active. you can also set the priority of which connection to use first etc.

That sums it up very well.

Hey tk u v.much senninha. I finally got it with your help. I have also actually remove the 3G/wap from the connection priority so I will not accidentally & automatically get connected to them. I hope this will work. Tks guys.

Hi,

I'm a proud new owner of the P1i, and am still feeling my way around.

I have the same initial question as this thread, which is I don't know which internet account / wireless is being used to provide me with the bandwidth. I've already set the priority settings under groups, but I'd still like to be able to see something to confirm it.

Right now when I click on connections manager I get:

ah-hoc bluetooth pan
maxis 3g wap
---log----
wireless1
wireless2
defaultwifiaccount
mrouter usb
semc gprs
..etc

But I don't see any indication as to which one is bring used? As far as I know, I'm using the wifi connection at the moment, but I don't see anything that confirms that.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Cheers,
Kinson
