I don't think I can bring myself to buy a K850i.

I have a k800i, which I'm very pleased with, and my contract is expiring soon, so I'm looking for a replacement. Obviously the K850i is in the frame, and I'm also looking at the Nokia N95. A couple of days ago I went into a shop just to look at the phones, just see how they look in the flesh and what they feel like in the hand. Well, I was flabbergasted at the k850i. I thought it looks terrible, like a cheap, plastic toy. I thought the tiny black buttons and those horrible square sliver buttons look very nasty and tacky. I'm not talking about how practical they are to use, because I don't know, but just about styling, fit and finish.

Am I missing something? I just can't believe how nasty one of S-E's top flight phones is, after being so pleased with the K610i, K750i and K800i. What do other think? Am I so alone on this?

(Shiho-camera oriented, paris-everything/buissnes flagship)

I have no regret in having K850i despite one time BROD, cracked Navigation pad, scratched housing, creaky battery cover and screen and dust under camera lens cover. This phone is excellent if you know how you handle it. Just enjoy the phone. Love it. Yet, remember it's just a phone. Nothing's perfect.

With all those problems, how is it an excellent phone?

What's the point of this thread anyway?
I think there are some similar threads before this.

You're not alone. I agree with you 100%.

On paper is looks the business and I quite like the touchscreen softkeys on the demo models I've tried in the shops, but the styling and finish leaves alot to be desired IMO.

N95 and N82 would be a good alternatives.
