hi, just wondering if anyone knows how to block any kind of SMS from coming. I don't have SMS plan and have been receiving a steady amount of SPAM sms. I don't want to pay for any of that and my cell carrier (T-Mobile USA) said there's nothing they can do.

change carrier. Quite frankly for them to tell you they can't do anything about it is wrong. These are unsolicited sms. You didn't ask for them.

Report it to the police, they are allowing the spammer to incur revenue for them at your expense without your approval - this is completely illegal.

Who exactly told you there is nothing they can do? Cause that seems very unlikely. It sounds like a staff member just couldn't be arsed helping and said that to get rid of you. If it was simply store staff or someone in a call centre, then I'd make a good attempt to speak to somebody higher up or simply just try another staff member. They really should be able to stop the problem!

i don't know if this will work but in your SMS settings, you could try entering a fake message center number to be used or uncheck the one being used.

that's a good point.

also, how can a operator make you pay for receiving sms? Not having an sms plan simply means you can't send sms. You should never pay for receiving sms.

If it's an mms message then you are receiving (aka one of those subscription things where you usually send "stop" to stop receiving them), then deleting your mms settings will stop them.

Oh yes!.senninha got it right. You only need to delete your message center number or simply enter a fake one.
The only confusion i have here is how those spamers came to get your phone number, have you published your phone number somewhere,or on any free wap site that requires the use of your phone number?.come on,it is some how amazing. You don't wanna get unsolicited sms, simple, just delete your default message center number and enter set of zeroes,eg,0000.
But you stand a perfect chance of missing good sms from your loved ones too.
