K800 screen probs. cant see all of it.

Hi am having probs with my k800. when i switch it on the sony ericsson screen comes up as it should but when it gets to the next screen where you select the mode i cant see the modes. All i get is the select and ok options andthey are at the top of the screen instead of the bottom. It's as if the screen has been moved up out of the phone just enough to leave select and ok. The rest of the screen is purple. once i push select the phone stays the same. I can get calls on it but cant see whos calling or use any functions on it. Please help.

I'd suggest you try flashing the phone with SE update service. If that doesn't work then take it to a service center. Good luck!

This happens to me some times when after modding the layout.xml, it doesn't get saved somehow. Plugging in my phone again and resaving it solves the problem.

So if your lucky, it's just your layout that's missing or damaged, if not reflash the phone.

have played with the phone using wotanclient and also tried to update with Sony Ericsson but now the phone wont turn on. Am not worried cos this phone tends to do this. Am sure at some point it will turn back on. SE update downloads an update but after 1% it says cant do it try again. This happens everytime. Wotanclient wants me to buy credits to help which I cant do just yet. Thanks anyway ppl. Will just keep trying stuff. Am nnot too clued up on this sort of thing.

Have you tried this: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=141436&start=0 ? Worked for me when my phone's erom was damaged after an interrupted connection. I didn't need any credits. Does your phone's infrared light blink a couple of times when you keep the on-button pressed?
