K750i USB Not recognized but charges on any pc? plz help

ok basically I just got my K750i off of eBay and everything was dandy till I tried plugging it into my laptop. I get USB Device not recognized but the phone charges. This happens on any computer I plug it into. Also I cannot re install drivers like other forums have advised because I dont have any installed, and I cant install them because of this problem. I was thinking the cable might be knackered but then the phone wouldnt charge if that was the case would it?

anyhelp would be gratfully appreciated.

turn off the press C key(on the phone), then it will find a new hardware. use this driver
