hi to all internet and SE fanatics out there.

i have a SE k610i (red) cellphone. my problem is, when i bought it here in my town, the only bundled accessories are the battery, a 64mb M2 ;(, charger and the DCU-60 data cable. i need a 3.5mm stereo adapter but i couldn't find in any cellphone store here. my option is to build one of my own and i think someone can help me this coz i am very much ought to listening to my MP3s in my k610i.

here's the deal:

i have a 4-pin DCU-60 data cable (link below)

which i used for charging, transferring stuffs from my laptop to k610i and vice versa. i want to cut the other side (usb end) and add a 3.5mm stereo headset adapter to it.

can someone tell me how to do it?

PS: include pictures, how to, or videos,,,etc.

thanks in advance.

COMPLETELY and ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE... (with that cable)

IMPOSSIBLE...

because the pins on the fastport side share with the charger....

the hansfree pins witch is used to output audio is missing on that cable...

BEST WAY:
buy an handsfree accessory of a walkman phone... it has the 3.5mm adapter.

how about adding additional pin for the audio?
and can anyone show the diagram of the pin/s of the K610i that signals the audio out?

I don't know what country you're in, but Play.com have some very good deals on SE headsets at the moment.

My husband used to have a K610i and that didn't come with a headset either, perhaps it's a standard thing.

im from the Philippines. yeah maybe its a standard thing for SE.

It isn't possible to do this with the data cable. The data cable does not have leads for the audio pins at the phone end.

And se cables are hard to mess around with. The insulation (underneath the exterior plastic) is some wierd sort of enamel.

ok lets leave the dcu60 cable.
how about other DIY 3.5mm for the k610i. i tried to search yesterday in a lot of cellphone shop here (about 10 of them), but couldnt find on1. they show me same as the dcu 60 data cable.

@iamsinned:

kababayan, what you're planning to do is quite expensive (since you might end up with a non-working "planned" 3.5 port plus the fact that you have actually destoyed a working usb cable!) and risky as well.

the earlier recommendation of buying the SE fastport-enabled headset (say, HPM-70) would give you what you exactly wanted aside from giving you a quality headset! HPM-70 is one of the better entry-level SE headsets around with the 3.5 adapter included.

goodluck, 'tol... cheers!

Dude, there are a million and one different 3.5mm adapters in almost all "tiangges" all over the place. Anything from Php150 all the way up to original Php1500. Take your pick.

The only 3.5mm adapter I haven't found here is the solid one-piece version which I might get from ebay since the short cable 3.5mm kinda annoys me.
