M600i - touchscreen issues

Hi,

After owning an M600i for 3 months - 2 sw updates, and much cool stuff to learn, my touchscreen broke!!! As in stopped functioning - without scratches, dents, or shocks being applied to the device. This never happened to me with a Nokia device...

Well, 3 things please:

1. Does anyone know how to calibrate a touchscreen after/if I eventually get a spare part?

2. Where can I obtain the touchscreen? The repair prices are riddiculous - 120-150 Euros, so no way I am repairing it. I'd better scrap it or buy the part and replace it myself

3. Anybody else had this mishap, or am I the first?

Thanks!

i bet i saw once the touchscreen calibration tool but i can't find it now. i must go now and haven't got the time to look after. i'll search when i come back.
repairing the touchscreen is very expensive, but if you only got it for 3 months, you must have warranty.

I think you can calibrate your touch screen by Tools>Control Panel>Others>Setup Wizard>Next>Next>Next>Next>Next (until you come accros a page with calibration)

Thanks - the setup wizard does indeed allow the TS calibration. Well done SE, you've hidden it well

Thanks again for your reply. Now the only thing left is for me to source a touchscreen.

Re the other post, what I meant is that I never broke a Nokia device - except a 6230i which I dropped about 1.5 m on concrete and only got its diplexer cracked - fixed for $10! I would have expected my SE smartphone to fail under similar circumstances, but not out of the blue like it did.

BTW, for what it's worth, the internal build quality is good, pretty much every module is shielded and has low inertial mass, so should be relatively reliable... the exception seems to be the screen, but this is incerdibly hard to source.

Thanks again!
