Hi
Can anyone let me have the set up details (POP3 and SMTP etc) settings to allow my Hotmal email to be accessed on the SE P990i phone. The phone is supplied by and locked to Orange UK.
I have tried all the usual set up details but the dialog is still telling me there is an error on the server set up.
Thanks

You cannot setup a Hotmail or MSN email to P990i.

So - there you go. Thanks a lot

The reason is that Hotmail doesn't provide POP3 (or IMAP).
Why use Hotmail when Gmail now is open for anyone? You should be able to forward your incoming Hotmails to Gmail.

Thanks a lot for this - done - works a treat!

how about yahoo?

Is there an automatic setting of forwarding your yahoo emails to gmails?

not for free. only if you pay for POP3 access.

You cannot setup Hotmail or Yahoo (I think Yahoo too) on your phone using POP or IMAP.

Hotmail doesn't provide it for free to free users.

It only provide it for Hotmail users who have paid for it, ie, Hotmail Plus or whatever...thats the main reason why Hotmail refuses to work with Outlook too.

Use Gmail...in my personal opinion, its better than Hotmail altogether, and in everything.

Cheers!

You can have yahoo, because I have it on my P990i so don't post incorrect information.

Hi all,
If you have a Yahoo.co.uk account follow the options and activate POP E-mail retrieval then just set it up on your phone remembering to use your Network providers details for the SMTP settings and obviously enter your correct user name and password and that should work, hope that helps and before any one says anything no you do not need to upgrade to a paid for Yahoo account either well at least not in the UK and in my experience as i have been using it since June last Year once i discovered affordable mobile Data on numerous devices including an SE M600 so if it works on that i can see no reason why it wont on a P990.

@cadcad
Please try to give details of the set up which allows you to read your Hotmail account emails in Outlook. I believe it was possible until recently - and now impossible?
