Ok I'll throw in my two cents on the topic:
My opinion on the whole Idea of everything being made in china is this- This whole scenario is based upon the democratic economic system. Now before you go whooo this guy is definitely a commie, hold on. Most companies in the world are trying to achieve (in their utmost hopes abnormal profits) economies of scale. Through this we the workers are at highest harms way. In the western nations we have minimal wages which are at times even a couple of thousand times larger then those of our counterparts in East Asia. Their baskets of basic goods (the products neccesary for human existance) are much cheaper therefore their wages can be too. Hence major world manufacturers are moving their factories to East Asia.

This may or may not be a negative thing. The people there work for lower wages and often are portrayed by the media as victims. The media tends to focus, for example, on how the workers in Asia are paid 1USD per day's labor. Usually their story cuts here which is only half the truth. Sure they get paid by our standards low wages but these low wages allow them to be able to buy the same basket of goods that we get to buy from our wages. You see it’s easy to say that they earn a dollar but you have to indulge yourself in the currency transfer rates. That dreaded dollar once changed into the country's currency yields a day's food, education for the children, and other necessities if required. So my point would be that its not all bad that allot of the goods are produced in East Asia. Through this we people in the western worlds have access to cheaper goods.

I know my point my not go down too well with some of you. But to further clarify i was brought up in the UAE, a developing country which is building itself up rapidly. Yet this great change would not be able to come about if not for the workers from Asia. The UAE counts some below 5 million people. Some 80 plus percent of them are workers from India, Pakistan and China. If not for those workers this country would be suffocated with growth and lack of labor. If not for those workers we on this forum even would not have the possibility to discuss Burj Al Arab:

Nor would the Emirates be able to have a second 7 star hotel the Qaser Al-Emarat

*Note- Having met some of those laborers, working for my father, at those dreaded low wages I can conclude that many of the workers are not as bad off as they seem. Once their contract concludes, when they go back their monetary situation is not so morbid at all. I, myself, have seen many photos of Mansions, yes mansions, which people build for themselves and their families back home where they come from. All of this from those minimal wages that to us the westerners from CNN and BBC land ponder as inadequate living conditions.

*Sorry for the long one hope it will be useful negatively or positively.

you could write about the fact that china are building over 2000 powerplants a week, in order to produce enough power to produce all this equipment, are cause of global warming some may say yes... but who's fault is this? This chinese? or the western world for demanding ever increasing technological advances?

perhaps a different view to take no?
