Ok, im in a bit of a piccle right now. I wanted a new macbook pro 17inch, but after looking at the 17"model I decided its to big, but I still want the large display so decided to buy a external monitor. I want a setup similar to this:
Now I was thinking about the size of the monitor and found that anything over 24 inches would cost me about 800 quid which was just to much for me to justify, so I talked to axxxr and as always has the answer. He found this for me
just under 500 a hdtv with input for monitors which sounded great, then I just relised that im off to uni this year and it would mean i have to pay a tv licence as theoretically its a tv and I didnt really want that as i dont need a tv. S although his solution is awsome its not quite right. I then looked at the apple displays and its pretty good 549 for a 20 inch lush apple one
I started looking at some reviews and it looked good, I then found a comparison between that and a dell screen and it seemed pretty good, but I found a site that did a review and comparisson on it with a dell:
Now I have to say although I really really dont like dell it does seem to be the best option, it has dvi and even a svideo input which means I can hook it up to a xbox or ps2.
Now I can buy this screen right now from del for £272 delivered inc vat which is very good, but the offer is only there for another 10 days or so. My dilema is to buy now and have it lying around for another 2-3months unused letting the warrenty pass and possibly it be reducd further as a new model will replace it or wait for the time to pass and buy it when I buy the macbook pro by that time there may not be a new model and it could work out more expensive, or it could be cheaper.
what would you people recomend? I dont like dell so am not sure if this is even the right choice, but it does seem pretty good.
cheers

I mean im not exactly sure but concidering your circumstances at Uni ect i think its best if you just went for the Dell....The offer is pretty good aswell
£272 aint bad, don't worry about the warranty as its normally covered for 12 months but you could always get that extended by paying extra if your prefer...But i doubt you will need that with just a monitor, these things very rarely go wrong.

yeh, as standard it comes with a 3 year one so it doesnt bother me, its just one thing to consider
