Hello good whatever time of the day it is i know this is not a computer forum, but i was wondering if any one here could solve my problem. I was on the internet on my computer (using my t230 as modem) and it froze while i was downloading the FMA software. I turn on my cpu and monitor but the monitor wont turn on its like its in stand bye mood. Can some one tell me whats the problem and what cause the problem.

Can you see the initial POST (Power on self test) screens, where information about your processor amount of RAM etc. are displayed ? Do you get any display at all ? If you don't get anything at all on the screen then do you at least hear any beeps?

I can't see any thing on the screen. Its like its in stand by mood but monitor is working because i tried it on another. And the light on the monitor is still orange. What do you think i should do

I've had a similar problem with my pc....not once, but twice! The cpu turns on, but the monitor won't! On both occasions, it was only a loose ram module. Try removing, cleaning and reinserting the DIMM Modules.... If you're not sure how to go about this call a technician..

And also remove and replace any PCI / AGP cards that you might have in there. Then, remove any external devices like printers etc. leaving just the keyboard, mouse and screen plugged in. If it still doesn't fire up, you'll need to take it in for repair as it could be a motherboard or CPU fault.

Yep, if you know how; then try disconnecting and reconnecting RAM and the VGA card. Most of the time these types of problems are caused by faulty (or loosened) VGA card or RAM.

But normally in those cases you should get beeps from the PC speaker giving an error code (like continues beeping for memory errors and 3 beeps for VGA error etc..).

Ok i'll take it to repair today and later i'll tell you the problem
