Cannot Connect to PC with my K700i

Hi,

Recently purchased a DCU-11 cable and the driver that came with it. However, my phone isn't recognised as connected. I'm wondering if I've installed the wrong driver and therefore would like to uninstall it and try one from the SE website. However, I don't know where the file for the 'wrong' driver is or what it is called to be able to delete it.

Any suggestions?

It's more likely to be a problem with the COM port settings rather than a driver issue. Even though you conect the phone via a USB cable, the PC sees it as a 'virtual COM' conection. Check the configuration settings and see if it allows you to change the COM port. Try 'em all if you're not sure, but it's likely to be COM 3.

As for uninstalling the driver, you have to uninstall the device itself from Windows device manager.

Thanks for the reply.

When I open Phone Monitor and go to COM ports, all COM ports are listed as Disabled. However, I can't select a port or right click it to enable it.

Also, I've tried device manager but can't see the driver listed.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the driver isn't in at all. Have you tried downloading the latest driver and installing it?

Have tried to install the latest driver from the SE website. Problem is that when I connect the cable as per instructions, I don't get the New Hardware Connected message so can't follow the installation instructions.
