Pictures of the Ferrari F2006:

http://www.f1racing.net/en/ph[....]e.php?photoID=54799&catID=1924

Compared to last year's F2005, the F2006 has winglets similar to the McLaren 'horns', the sidepods tuck in sharply in front of the rear wheels (presumably with the smaller V8 engine, smaller radiators are used) and the position of the mirrors looks as if they will sit below the turbulent air from the front wheels, creating little drag.

Whaaaaaaat Ferrari usin' a V8 engine I thought it's STANDARD in the F1 races to use V10 engines which produces 700-800 horses

I just hope that Ferrari will win more races this year, as the Renault Team got the TOP prize last year. It will be a different FEEL in the race track this year for the Ferrari Team as Reubens Barrichello will be joining the Bar Honda (is it ) Team !

DRIVER's START YOUR ENGINES !!!!

2006 F1 race will commence this March!

Posted by Caveman
@JN: For the 2006 season, V8 engines (or restricted V10s) are standard. Tyre changes are back and there is a new qualifying format - The slowest 5 cars are excluded at 15 minute intervals

Posted by *Jojo*
@caveman - H m m m m, this is really new now matey . . . V8 engines The cars will not produce that much horses I guess . . . Thanks for posting those NEW rules!

top door slammer V8's produce way more power than an F1 engine

Take Victor Bray's '57 Chev for example - 3000 Horsepower, Quarter mile in 6.056 seconds, best MPH time of 245mph (world record for doorslammer).

Didnt any of you guys see kimi raikonnen drive? He was absolutely amazing! From last place to 3rd. Cum on guys only guys he was only 19 seconds behind alonso. He better watch out. Kimi's hot!!!

Posted by JK
Yay Shumis back! Nice to finally see, Its gonna be a tough season this year although those Mclarens look menacing!

Im not sure bout Massa abilities maybe its too early to judge him.
While watchin yesterday i tawt they should bring back turbos in F1, that will give them little V8s some power, right now they 5 seconds slower than last year!! WTF?
But did u notice the rev limited V10s on the straights?? They were damn fast!!!
Raikonens drive was standard... All the top teams that start at the back end up with a surprise finish.

i think clearly THE drive of the day had to belong to nico rosberg. rookie driver gets punted and spun around at the first corner, loses 45 sec trundling bak to the pits to get a nosecone replaced, then storms back to within 15 sec or so of his teammate into 7th, posting fastest lap of the race twice in the process. truly outstanding!

shows that he deserves to be in F1 not only for his father's name. keke must have been so proud.

Yip I agree very nice drive from him, damn lucky 20 year old!!

Gotta agree, I thought Rosberg may have tried to survive in F1 on his name, but his performance was blinding, he's more than deserved his right to race with the big guns.

Also, I would just like to point out that what Raikkonen did, coming last to third was unbelievable! Considering he mad that race with loads of fuel and only on two sets of tyres! Don't get me wrong, watching Alonso stick it Schumi was great, but just wait until Raikkonen starts at the front, then you'll see the REAL pace of the McLarens!

Finally, I'm a bit sceptical about Ferrari's pace, as they were one of the few teams that actually bothered testing in Bahrain. you woould hope they'd be quick with all the data they now must have, so, I'm not sure how good their pace will be in the next few races.

Great to have F1 back!!!

Cheers guys

Actually im surprised by raikkonen's drive,it was damn good, but the point is mercedes engine was underpowered, they had to cut the revs ,heck , even nobert haug said he'll surprised to see mclarens in a top positions.
Im not liking the red in the mclarens though.

which era are you living in?

also back are....

- tyre chages.... now they can change the tyres while in hte race and the last years crap of a single tyre change has gone...

and the new rules are....

- new rules in quali.... last six are out... then goes another 6 in the second round (single laps only) and the final 10 have the old fashioned type of qualifying using as many laps as they want

- if in the race the car is stationary, the car is out....

Posted by max_wedge
do you mean if the car is stationery for only a second (for example it spins out, stops, then rejoins the race undamaged) then it's disqualified?

If so sounds a bit harsh....

Posted by Bambino
is the rumors that next year kimi move to ferari to replace schumi, n alonso move to mclarren to fill kimi position?

btw super aguri is a loser!

Super A will need more modern cars, but at least its another team. I hope kimi doesn't move to Ferrari, let whine pablo move!

Posted by *Jojo*
nokia - Yup, Alonso to McLaren in 2007 !

Posted by Bambino
viva mclarren. but i prefer mclarren alonso - kimi tag team. montoya can go to s. aguri

Posted by *Jojo*
Raikkonen-Schumacher team up in F1 will be the team to beat ! Unless, there will be an Alonso-Barichello tandem

Posted by Bambino
hmm.. how about schumi - rossi vs kimi - alonso. heh... heh.. heh... ill never miss my tv on sunday

Posted by *Jojo*
@nokia - hos is ROSSI Is he the ever-famoso, Valentino Rossi ? The GREAT Big Bike driver? Is he into F1 cars too?

Posted by Bambino
@jn
yeah right valentino rossi. he even had test 3 times on ferrari this year. he rumored to join ferrari on 2008

you said it, buddy!

Posted by *Jojo*
@nokia - I guess Valentino will be 'eating' still a LOOOOOOT of experience before making it to the podium. Look at the likes of Panis, Villeneuve etc. they are 'oldies' in F1 and still . . . did NOT make it in the podium, I guess. Also, Valentino will be testing how it feels riding on 4 wheels, from 2 wheels, that will be hard mate ! Just like transferring from Nokia to fone

Posted by Bambino
btw my prediction on this sunday.
alonso - 1st place
schumi - 2nd place
kimi - not able due to mechanical problem
3rd - honda or toyota!

i'm betting my k700 with my friends e720. i hope my predictions is right

I Think Shumis taking the next one to be honest!!

Shumis too lazy these days he doesnt chase down the guys in front anymore...

Alonsos team won the race for him, so next race I say Shumis gonna take it!!

Posted by Bambino
@786KBR
Schumi not lazy, he just too old

Posted by JK
Maybe but imagine a driver with Shumis brilliance and Takuma Satos bravado!!! That will be a sight to see!!!!

* and please dont throw up that theres a driver like that out there!!

Potential candidates for that (not giving importance to brilliance/skill but more of brave and stupidity)
1.Ralf
2.Juan pablo (he used to be ,but not any longer)
(I still cant figure how the above two managed a good season for williams in 2004 )

Posted by *Jojo*
My prediction for this weekend's race is that the SAFETY CAR will WIN, 1-2-3 Podium Finishes !!!

you guys gotta see this.....

really really cool!

Well, on he whole, I thought that the Malaysian GP was a bit dfisappointing... especially if you're a McLaren fan!

Raikkonen was destined to do so well, and show up Montoya's, quite frankly, poor performance! Was really just another day in the office for Renault, the had no real competition! Good to see Ferrari doesn't have some sort of mystery blistering pace!

Well I'm off to remember why I'm such a McLaren fan, cause I so don't wanna go through a repeat of last year!!

Cheers guys!

right! well I'm sitting here, in the Sun under a bright blue sky in Sydney, on the decking out the back of a friends house with a VB stubby watching the channel ten presenation of the Aussie Grand Prix... it doesn't get much better than this!

Good to see that Button got pole, now lets see if he make it count!

Posted by mustafabay
Well Button almost did :-/

Posted by Bambino
what a! only 20ft left! pffftt lucky for Fishicella. btw m. schumi hav bad day today!

Posted by *Jojo*
@masseur - So, you are in Australia now dude

So who won yesterday's race: Australia I was not able to watch it as I switched channels to see the A1 race (like that of the F1 races too) !

Posted by Gigs
@SE Rules: Chin up, I KNOW kimi i just lulling everyone into a falsh sense of safety.. then snap he'll start winning.. (To everyone else: yes its denial.. but its happy denial! )

Really wish F1 had remained on free to air TV here in NZ this year, at this rate i'm going to have to start looking for downloads

I would have tawt hed have some momentum to make it across... I would have jumped out and pushed!!

I see the younger drivers are taking over!!

ps Shumis car is crap again this year!!! that new super car thing over took him!! wtf Ferrari!!

If Ferraris not in the top 3 in San Marino they wont make it this year again!!
Oh they releasing there new upgraded machine at the next race!!

Posted by senninha
button purposely stopped before the finish line so that he would be classified as a retirement. it's because of a strange thing in the rules wherein if you don't finish the race, then you don't get a 10-place penalty in the next race for prematurely changing your engine.

Posted by JK
So if his engine blew up 2m to the line and won would he have gotten a penalty for the next race??

Posted by senninha
well if he won, he would have crossed the line and finished the race. and yes, he would get a 10-place penalty in the next race if he changed his engine prematurely. silly rule but that's the way it is...

Posted by mustafabay
Now I think Honda should've let Button take the points and the penalty, maybe next race he won't even finish. And is Button bad at catching up with competitors? He seems to qualify well and then try to not fall back too much.

Posted by *Jojo*
So who went to the PODIUM last weekend mates 1-2-3 finishes . . .
