Which is the manufacturer?

It looks like an oversized Nokia 6230 to me, YUCK!

Asus make decent motherboards so quality wise it should be pretty good. Not too sure about the specs and looks though. As someone else has already mentioned, it seems a bit behind the times to me.

it may be behind with those features but still its a good phone i guess. the manufacturer is quite reputable. the big PLUS is its price! with that good features, it is available for only about $180 (160 euros).

very cheap for a phone with such features. the only downside is its vga camera. all else are good.

guys??? any suggestions???

guys?? any suggestions??

i really need one right now coz im about to buy this phone.

i need another phone for comparisson.

Bought it!!!
It's a cool phone with features similar to that of K750i.
For example: You can view videos in Full-Screen mode that you have to rotate the phone sideways like in K750i. The polytones are 64-Chords. It has a media player, fm radio, etc.
The phone is really a lot like similar to Samsung phones.

“Asus mobiles” has nothing to do with Asus PC Hardware manufacture, it is one brand and generally it is one company but the factories and quality are completely different, ASUS makes brilliant mother boards, I have a workstation based on ASUS but the quality of Mobile Phones is near LG, be careful don’t let your leg being pooled.

What about battery life? Is it as good as that of nokia phones?

Posted by leo_asb
battery life is on the normal level about 2 to 3 days.

I vouch for the asus mobos.
What kind of stock apps does it have?

Posted by leo_asb
it has 3 java apps but you can upload through its included USB cable. you should install first its bundled software but if not installed, your phone can act as a mass storage device as well.

if asus the motherboards maker is different from the asus that makes mobiles then how come in the official asus website under the products section there is "mobile phone" category?

I don't know why this phone isn't for sale in the mainland of China. :-(

Maybe Asus afraid its model copied under diffrent brands lol

Phone isn't eye catching or stylish imo. Still it has decent features for the average user plus if the battery life is good then it might just catch on. How much does it cost?

Posted by leo_asb
i think it cost about $170

ASUS V66 is indeed a very cool phone.

It's even smaller than the K608i.

You can even use most of its features including the MP3 player without the SIM card!

Posted by leo_asb
Im sad to say that . . .

Im using the phone NO MORE.

I bought a K608i eight(8) days ago coz I need a 3G handset since my network provider is now offering 3G in my country. I want to be one of the first to experience it. Hehe...

Im still using my ASUS V66 now as my MP3 player since it has a large and expandable memory eventhough I have real MP3 players. I like the sound quality of the earphones of my previous phone than that of my MP3 players. Guess I need an upgrade of earphones for my MP3 players. Hehe...

I retired my ASUS V66 as my mobile phone after 6 months. It still has 6 months left on its warranty! Hehe...

Chow!

ASUS V66 Update:

Believe it or not, the phone still works like brand new 'till this very day. Hehe..

It has a working SIM Card installed, the battery is working normally, and I updated its firmware version just recently.

Two thumbs up for this mighty phone! It has been 5 (+ -) years since purchase.
