Blow Out The Candle

Pros
Its music player is fair, its expandable memory is good, its easy to use & photoDJ was a blast.

Cons
Now normally i don't like putting sony down as i'm a HUGE supporter i'm like a fan of there work but this phone was a slight disappointment in my view unfair yes as i had the V630 but these are the same its just V630 has Vodafone Branded Software. Now the main reason is well 4 words "white screen of death" it was just over a year old (hence the title of this review)

Conclusion
it WAS a good phone don't get it twisted up until the "white screen of death" it was like a awesome working phone & it had style to match. CarKitter said don't underestimate this phones it has power & style to much & just because one bad issue doesn't mean it should be counted out.

Loving it!

Pros
Im loving this phone. 2MP Snapper. Made as a MID-Range Music Phone. 3G video call and TV (lovin it so far)

Cons
NO flash, CANT play .mp3 RUFFA back V640i is better :P

Conclusion
VERY good never will betrad mine but its jest a K800i in smaller features and better looks sadly most songs are in MP3 the K618/V630i is a mid-range and im thinking of getting a V640i or W890i to replace it. I'll miss you old chum! :P

SE's Most Underestimated Phone!

Pros
This is basically a baby K800. All the features are there, Media Player, A2DP, 3G with Video Calling, USB cable, great User Interface, Activity menu. Plus it's only 15mm thick, the 2.0MP camera is above average and images can be modified in the Photo DJ. I've had a picture from this phone published in a national magazine! Play/pause button instantly starts the music and there are many free themes available as it's compatible with those from K610 and W810. D-pad is good to use and keypad is nice for txting. Screen is good too, especially for streaming video.

Cons
Umm... not many actually. V630 version has Vodafone firmware, Browser is mediocre but Opera mini is a good free replacement, some blurring of background details in photos and Media Player UI looking a little old these days & slow to play DRM files. No stereo speakers.

Conclusion
Many people ignore this phone because of the lack of Autofocus and the V630 version because of the Vodafone firmware. In truth, neither of these things are a real issue. These phones are better looking than the K610i, better featured than the 2.5G non-A2DP W810 with its older UI and easier to use than the similar priced Samsung Z400v and Nokia 6234 my wife and son own. The features are extensive and you'll find something new it can do nearly everyday.

Mid-Range, Mid-Excitement

Pros
Has good looks, especially the back. Good, easy to use buttons which aren't too small or too big. 3G data speeds. Decent enough 2 MP Camera. Quick and responsive and has good battery life. It will at least impress your know-nothing friends! The memory stick slot is on the outside so you don't have to remove the battery cover.

Cons
The d-pad. Why put a d-pad that suggests Walkman on a phone with no Walkman? It has a very limited media player which doesn't cut it (especially when they still market it as a music phone). The 2 MP camera has no autofocus and seriously sucks in low light because there is no light and its not that great anyway. Its a camera for fun snaps when you need them ONLY. Don't expect quality. With the limited features, it gets seriously boring quickly. It slows down HEAPS (like up to 30 second lagging) when I have a Vodafone music track on it with DRM (on phone or memory card). Thats not good enough.

Conclusion
While the phone does everything it is supposed to do, and everything you paid for, it doesn't do anything more. It gets boring fast because of this. I bought this over a K800i and I regret not saving that bit extra for the better K800i. I would've had a lot more fun with it. The camera is ok, but only for not-serious photography. There is too much noise, blur and bad colouring for serious shots. The media player sucks. Don't expect to use it as an MP3 player. 3G is good and it works fine. The phone lacks those little extras that make it that much sweeter, eg. A camera light, radio, a camera lens cover, and autofocus.
