Good phone with some unwelcome evolution

Pros
- Overall still an excellent phone in the SE tradition (lastest firmware recommended). - AGPS quickly gets the satellite lock. - Wi-Fi easy to use and more sensible than HTC TyTNII for instance. - Makes decent videos with zoom functional while recording.

Cons
- Memory recognized as MTP device in Phone Mode, No more possible to use phone as flash drive without having to switch to Mass Storage mode (no phone function) - Disappointing 3.2mp camera for still pictures, w/o Autofocus (2mp K750 was so much better) - Small center joystick button. Easy to miss target.

Conclusion
Coming from K750i and K550, with a short time using a HCT TyTNII, the G705 has nice additions to the K predecessors (Wifi, GPS, accelerometer) but I'm not sure they balance the poor non-autofocus camera (3.2mp is really pointless here), the memory detected as MTP device in Phone Mode which is less flexible than Flash Drive (can't map as a drive so can't sync "non-Windows Media" content). The GPS is fast and simple but only makes sense with Google maps. Wayfinder is just a non-sense for its high price. You could buy a decent standalone GPS instead. Compared to my TyTNII/Kaiser phone, Wi-Fi in G705 is much easier to use and picks networks at bigger range. The accelerometer is a nice gadget but I wish there were a bit more applications for it.
