Nokia recently presented a couple of short videos at NokiaWorld 2006 that show off its designs for a fantastic new user interface.

The ease with which the user is able to select various items on the screen and push them around with the flick of a finger, sorting and collating as he goes, make you wonder why no-one thought of this type of interface before!

See videos of Nokia's new user interface below, It looks so natural and intuitive Better still, it finally takes the mobile phone out of its restrictive wannabe a-PC phase it's been stuck in for the past few years. source:mobilementalism

If any of that makes it to market I would be very surprised. I would much rather see faster technology to replace Bluetooth et al and far more robust devices (dump the joystick). Touch screen in a device this small (only getting small these days) isn’t going to be pretty unless there is some sort on onboard stylus.

It looks kinda 'complicated'... if this interface follows nokia´s s60 it will look great and on the other side be slow and crashy.
I´m still waiting for apple´s multitouchscreen interface that people say will be implemented on apple´s mobile and ipod, it will be more advanced than that since that interface is ´one´touchscreen interface.

There's a lot of innovative stuff coming out from Nokia...they seem to be moving ahead on so much more levels than any other company...taking on much more different companies than Motorola or this Japanese Sonyericsson.

Yeah, since N1 allows you to drag different windows around aswell...

very nice but i think that if we see this on a nokia phone its not for now maybe it will take a year or so. For that time SE will have something like this for sure (hopefully not buggy as usual! lol)
