ICS review from xperiablog
http://www.xperiablog.net/201[....]-ics-update-first-impressions/
what I have noticed so far:
-a lot of free data space available.
-I noticed some strange behaviour with Temple Run game.
-Exchange email now displays html mails.
however when Email is opened, it goes directly to Exchange inbox. Unlike in previous version in GB, it opens up the list of set up email accounts, as I use email app for my exchange, yahoo and hotmail accounts.
-music Player is not the one from Xperia S, no custom equaliser.
-weather widget is not the one from Xperia S.
-No twitter post viewer inside Timescape.

I think this is a default setting ... in order to view new inbound emails; Exchange - since its corporate based - will have priority. I'm sure there is a setting to change the default mailbox/contacts/calendar.

Hi all,
happy owner of an Xperia Arc S, upgraded about an hour ago.
The upgrade process was smooth and went well. All my installed applications, preferences, email accounts etc. were all there after the upgrade.
So far so good, takes a little bit longer to start up from a powered down state (not measured, just my observation/feeling) but nothing to gripe about.
Performance is good, not faster, but not slower either.
When you go into Settings, the layout is different and when managing applications there is a new option to Disable an application (including the inbuilt apps). I like this and used it to Disable e.g. Fun & Downloads, which I never use. After a bit of tweaking, it reports 126 Mb of RAM free after start up.
The new email application is much improved. The messaging application is also improved, but I never use it, I am a big fan of GoSMS and use it exclusively.
Note: because there are new camera and email applications, if you had links/icons for these on the home screen, the link will be broken after the upgrade. Not a big deal, just delete the link (drag icon to the bin) and create a new one. Same thing with some widgets which have new ones.
New camera app is good, loads faster and seems to produce better photos (again not measured, just my observation/feeling).
Adobe Flash is removed during the upgrade. You can download it again from Market if you want, I have not bothered.
All in all, it feels solid and works well for me. I suppose over the next few days more users will make the upgrade and report their experiences/issues, but so far it gets my thumbs up.
Regards,
/Mike B.
