Samsung today announced the Samsung Soul. A 5 megapixels slide model with a new type of touchscreen interface. 11 February 2008
The Samsung Soul is the flagship model in 2008 according to the press release. It is a slim model measuring a thickness of only 12.9 mm. It has a 5 megapixel camera, face detection, image stabilizer. 7.2 Mbps HSDPA connectivity and digital power amplifier made by Bang & Olufsen. These numbers are impressive, but what differentiates this model from the rest of the Samsung lineup is the Magical Touch. I tried it, and it found it very easy to use. The large display is not a touch display, but having the navigation interface at the bottom of the phone makes it easy to use even with one hand. In fact, it is designed to be used with one hand. The addition of an extra touch sensitive LCD display makes less room for the ordinary screen of course. Nevertheless, I think the 2.6 inch main screen is large enough.

you have no idea how crap the phone is - you've never seen it! it doesn't look too great on the build quality though tbh..but it's a proto phone (almost certainly? - not a final production anyway)
the touchpad looks pretty good...although it would take some getting used to and i still dont really see the point in not just using real buttons...it's so much easier to use..
