LG Unveils The UK's First 5 Mega-Pixel Digital Camera Phone
3 August 2006 by axxxr LG announces the first 5 Mega-Pixel digital camera phone to arrive in the UK, the LG KG920. Leading the camera phone market, LG Mobile bring the KG920 to the UK in silver with a unique camera-style form, the KG920 boasts an innovative twist design that allows the camera to rotate up to 180 degrees.
A UK first, the LG KG920 is set to outperform even the latest digital cameras available in the UK market with its multitude of photographic capabilities. Within its super-slim, compact form, the KG920 packs a powerful 4x digital zoom for crystal clear close-up shots. With summer season well underway, the handset is ideal to capture the perfect snaps whilst on holiday abroad or out and about in the UK. From the Northern Lights in Alaskato Ayers Rock in Australia, the KG920 can capture stunning scenery beautifully with the landscape mode, and safari shots are no longer confined to professional photographers alone, with the 4x digital zoom allowing intimate shots with animals at a distance. For sport enthusiasts wanting to photograph their favourite team in action, the handset even offers a sports mode for fast paced shots. For night time party snaps and romantic portrait shots, the first-rate flash reaches up to distances of 1.5 metres to capture those important shots. The innovative twist design means the handset can rotate up to 180 degrees, this makes it ideal to take self portrait photos or alternatively, to ensure group shots fit everyone in by allowing the group to see the LCD display whilst posing for the shot. Alongside taking stunning photos, the KG920 also offers melodic entertainment so music lovers can enjoy listening to their favourite tunes on the class-leading MP3/AAC music player, and save a combination of music and photos to the 256MB memory card included with the handset. John Barton, Sales and Marketing Director at LG Mobile, said: "By launching the LG KG920, we have demonstrated that LG Mobile is the UKleader with unprecedented photographic innovation. With the KG920 offering 5 Mega-Pixel camera quality, consumers no longer need to carry a separate digital camera, which not only benefits keen photographers who want to travel light but also sets a precedent for all future camera phones." The LG KG920 will be available from early August at The Carphone Warehouse. For further information on LG mobile handsets, please visit: www.lgmobile.com

On 6 Aug 12:36 b wrote "Would be good with a 3x optical, dont see why companies still brag about digital zoom when it's not all that." Simply because a lot of users like to use digital zoom. In fact, they use it like there's no tomorrow! Ok, may just like there's no optical zoom. Probably beacuse they don't have to review the photos on a computer, unlike a digital camera, but only on their small phone screen. Thus, digital zoom or not, they can't really tell the difference. It is only visible when viewed on a computer. On 5 Aug 11:45 richard wrote we sell it here at BelCompany in the netherlands. For a price off 699 euro's. K800i makes better pics we think! I hope this one is too. On 4 Aug 15:43 Pando wrote Camera Side, it's fine... Phone side, quite average and looks typical to me... Not being bias, i think Sony Ericsson designs phone better. On 4 Aug 14:18 goldenface wrote I'm sort of impressed. Whereas in the past we had a cameraphone - 75% phone and 25% camera, this looks like the tables have been turned. If the phone is as good as the camera then I'm impressed. I think it looks more camera than phone though.
