Yeah seems interesting because it will serve as an upgrade to my M600i interms of the WiFi, superb camera, video Call, and yeah fast, due to the ram, size and ofcos the radio function. am woried of the weight tho, because am comfy with the M600 weight.

keep it up

borring, they said the same in march that they will announce the new m610i, now it`s called p700 and still nothing official has shown up.
i`m going for the m600 as its cheap and i consider it an upgrade from my k750 :)

yo SSM - can you tell me where exactly in in India you can get P990 in the 20000 range? Or are you talking about the "P990 Lite", you know, the one that comes with no box and papers, no charger, and perhaps some bloodstain which came from the original owner's head when somebody swiped the phone from him ???
On 7 May 16:20 SSM wrote
Surely it will be released soon, prices of P990i which is inferior to P700i have already crashed from Rs. 30,000 in India to Rs. 20,000(~500USD)
So expect a price tag in 700USD range (atleast in India). Waiting for May 8th eagerly......

is that cradle for charging, or exchange f.ex. with active sync or similar?
Or is it just something used to put the phone in a nice angle?

I wish they made 2 sets of backlights... one white backlight for the qwerty, and the other red one for the numberic keypad... and only one would come on at a time, so it's as if the letters would vanish in keypad mode, and the numbers would vanish in qwerty mode...

Yay! I have been waiting for a stable firmware of the P990 before upgrading from my P910 but I reckon I will go with the P700 now - assuming it is as stable as the M600

Odhiambo:

this will be an M600 successor as the form factor speaks itself, there will be a phone who can match N95's functions except the 5mp camera as this will be the main feature of the K850 cybershot. maybe the W950 successor will do the rest of the match against N95's multimedia capabilities. yeah the RAM has improved alot, the speed is fast and the desktop PC like layout feature of the standby screen kills every possible PDA OSes. all in all this is a great move from SE. i just hope that the improvements are going strong
On 22 Apr 00:12 Odhiambo wrote
Well for those already owning M600 or P990 this will not be a serious upgrade unless (1) screen resolution 320x320 or 320x480 or better at 16M colors (2) it is based on the new Symbian 9.5,UIQ3.1 and JAVA SPECIFICATION(3) EDGE and WIFI included (4) the media player has improved capabilities ie WMA, WAV, MP3, MP4, OGG, ... (5) improved processor, and more APPLICATION RAM!

Not that impressed with the design,at all.Only thing that really catches my eye is the 3.2 mp camera and of cause 160mb built in memory.Think I'll stick with my "nicely settled P990i"

don't know if the m600 has been discontinued
but i do know there used to be some issues with the m600 (mostly software) but with current SW version it's realy a reliable phone.
On 21 Apr 09:44 Girish wrote
When I asked some dealers of mobile phones in Mumbai about M600i they discouraged me from buying saying it has failed and the co. has withdrawn the model after lot of complaints. So what is the reality? Has it been reintorduced after removing bugs? And how does it compare against nokia's E62 in price and working?
Will someone knowledgable pl. revert?

On 21 Apr 05:55 SeF wrote
it is now true, but i hope that everything is already improved and SE have made the best out of his new flagship. goodluck SE, all we users need is general improvement over your phone software and hardware.
On 21 Apr 04:58 keight00i wrote
hmm... good, good, nice improvements... however, its almost sure this phone's gonna come with a quite hefty pricetag.... anyway, with this phone on the horizon, this might be my chance to buy an m600i at dirt cheap price!!!
