Bittorrent goes mobile
23 May 2006 by axxxr
A British college student claims to bring out what could be considered as the first Bittorrent client for Mobile phones. The software, called WizBit, relies on the Bram Cohen “hellish" creation and uses 3G network to transfer big files via mobile phones. David Hulbert, the project developer, warns that the current WizBit “is an unfinished version and will not fully work yet." But he double-crosses finger to get the first major release done by July 7, 2006. Should Hollywood have to worry? No, at least not now. It would be horribly expensive to use the cellphone to download ‘Da Vinci Code‘ for instance. And still unaffordable for everyone to get an episode of ‘24‘ by this way. source: 21talks Comments On 6 Jun 22:36 zen wrote to somepeople this could be like a limewire or bearshare but Bittorrent has a lot bigger amount of data required in the gtx core of the ragings thunder cats of the ownerfication On 30 May 23:48 Jwade wrote bittorent is like a p2p program but u use a file to tell it what songs, videos etc 2 download On 29 May 07:06 rgs258 wrote EXCELENT On 24 May 19:59 IuseFilesharingon3Gc wrote Verizon, TMobile, and Sprint all offer unlimited packages. Not worth it to activate such a package on a phone though, but perfectly worth it to use it on a laptop (Phone thru office kit to USB or a PCMIA card).
