Is this the Sony Ericsson W850i?

however its just a 2 mega pixel camera why not the 3.2

because the 'w' series is aimed at the music, hence walkman branded. where as the 'k' series is aimed at the camera, hence cyber-shot branded. the 'k' series does not have the walkman music abilities of the 'w' series, so why should the 'w' series have the 'k' series' camera abilities...?

It's not an 3,2 mp because the k800/790. They don't want an inside concurent 4 it.

this is the worst ever designed Walkman phone combined with "cliche" features. again, no ground breaking innovation, just the same old SE concept, too plain and limited.

Slider is such a modernistic form factor, but sad to say, for me, it did not work out for the rumored W850i. it is so ugly. W900i looks better than that.

in addition, its camera, very out-dated. i have seen lots of 2 mpx camera phone and it is getting suffocating. they could have put 3.2 mpx.

for this i would say, nokia phones, nowadays, are more practical and feature-rich. that's why nokia sells lot of phone than any other phone manufacturing companies. basically, because, i think, they consider "benefit of the doubt".

BUT SONY ERICSSON DO YOU?

I think it looks beautiful, I swear you guys don't no what you are talking about, just little kids that are soo spoilt and wants bloody eveythink in the fones, but sorry you aint going to have it. in a next few you guys will be crying bcoz it don't have a microwave in it, like some members have said it a walkman fone not a cyber shot camera fone, if you want a 3.2 cam fone then wait for the k800 simple. and for a walkman fone I think they done a brilliant job on it, its more like integrated a fone to a mp3 player.

I didnt like the design very much with the slider thing and wierd keypad beneath the screen... perhaps this is a smaller w900? I honestly find this phone just uninteresting. Phones with nice cams, media player and radio have been out there for a VERY long time. C´mon gimme something really new instead of selling the same thing dressed in 1000 different forms. Since k750/w800 all mid-end phones have just cosmetic upgrades. How about symbian os? tv? a real change in cam instead of just a few extra pixels? Hum... the good part of all that is i see now that getting a w800 was a very good investment thats gonna last for a very long time...
At the same time nokia keeps going further...

i hope an i-phone would be released so SE could learn how to make a real music phone! Not just another remote-control-looking-phone. it looks cheap, or to be fair, sporty, but not definitely classy.

Reason for the 2.0 mega pixel camera has to be price.

They're already giving you a 1Gb Micro Stick. If they were also to give you a 3.2 camera the final package would be far too expensive.

Going by the model number this will be almost the top of the range Walkman phone as it is.

For all the people that don't understand...

If sony ericsson were to give the walkman (w) phones the same camera's as the cyber shot series, then they would have to give the cyber shot (k) series the same walkman abilities as the walkman (w) series...

K series (Cyber-Shot) = Camera

W series (Walkman) = Music

U talk like theres no possible upgrade besides camera and since thats destined to the k line we have to think this´ phones specs are great. They r not. 1gb is cool but is not an upgrade, one could just get a big card and if this is about memory 1gb is not that much. Se could start using symbian os, tv, or improve the video recording in the mid-end line for example, make a game device using the sony brand, i dunno, but just a real upgrade would be nice.
