I hope this is really going to be in the Sony Ericsson line. I have longed for them to come with a fashion phone that stands out. This sure looks like a head turner and definitely a competitor to the Vertu etc. Very nice sleek design. Love it love it.

That is absolutely stunning. I would have that in a second - OLED screen, beautiful finish...One thing, looks a bit like the finish on the ipod nano, hope it doesn't scratch the same!

I think that we are used with the keypad,the 4 MP camera is the reason witch the " camera phone" name exists...love the design,I just imagine myself in the face of one of this gorgeous models...hey,is it 3G compatble cose I see a 'hole' at front,next to the call-speaker...it looks like a big phone cose the charging-port is rather small compared with the phone...right now the images are made on a computer,I can see that from the back-SE logo,it's an flat one,when real SE logo is a 3D one...& the back pick,4.0 Mega Pixel is a "paint" text...I hope I will se that phone in the shops in romania or italia cose i vould love to put my hands on a masterpiece like that...the price...about $650/700...for it's functions...or...let's say...$800 (extra $100 for SE name & excusivity)...

C'mon, you can't be serious... that is the ugliest design I've ever seen.

If you're going to emphasize the sleem OLED borderless display, the worst thing you can do is put that AWFUL looking step-off in the middle of it.

The numbers at the bottom ruin the whole design concept and the metal border... well that's pure 2001 Sony Clie, outdated.

The finish looks shiny and smooth and that's the only cool thing about it.

This guy is supposed to be a designer?

Vertu is about beautiful handcrafted phones, using exclusive materials etc.

This black diamond looks like another piece of plastic. The only thing it could pretend to compete with is for example Nokia 8800. Sure, the design is interesting, but certainly does not stand out like a Vertu does and certainly cannot pretend to be exclusive.

it looks really good but what about your finger prints it looks like it will pick it up and get dirty very easyly, looks are every thing but if you can't touch it with out it getting dirty whats the point

Sorry, Black diamond will not be for sale, it's only a "design-study" (prototype I guess) acording to SE.
But it is possibly that SE will release similar phones in the future, since Black Diamond has a much-appreciated design.

The contrast between the subtle design of the phone, and some comments made on this 'blog?' can only underline the fact that, thank God, this phone is out-of-reach for most people with it's $300K price tag.

SE, if you want to keep this gadget alluring and yet exclusive; either don't sell it at all or make the marketing sales pitch even more slick than the phone itself, so even the most ardent of fans [of the phone] who won't be put off from certain moronic comments by (evidently) people with no taste in the finer things of life which I'm assuming is what the product market orientaion is being marketed at.
