Sony Ericsson today announced three new mobile phones. Satio, Aino and Yari where Satio and Aino have touch display. Satio is the official name of the Idou announced in Barcelona earlier this year.Gone are the usual model naming. W700, G705, S500 are now substituted with names that very well could have come from the Japanese part of the company. It could be a coincidence of course, but Aino is a Japanese mountain and Yari is the Japanese term for spear. My guess is that these three models have their origin from Japan. Suprisingly, non of the three new models have Sony's MemoryStick for external storage. microSD is the new memory card format. The connectivity plug used for charging and headset is of the usual Sony Ericsson proprietary type. In February, Sony Ericsson was one of 17 mobile phone manufactures and operators which agreed to start using a standardised charger design. We are not there yet. What we could have hoped for was a 3.5mm plug for use with quality headsets. Satio highlights - Weight: 126 gram

Satio/Idou will be MINE!
SE will finally bring me back - without loosing the power of S60/Symbian that I've grown to love so much.
SonyEricsson's video ads for most of their phones clearly show SE to be THE social phone manufacturer - they always show phones doing what they do so that users enjoy them not just the phone itself. SE shows how the phone seemless is apart of your life.

These are full blooded multimedia power devices. The sooner they are out in the market, the better for us. Love the new Japanese design and the feature sets which are above par from any handset available in the market. Ppl, these are the faces of the "NEW FUTURE". We love the Future. Satio is the new standard to beat.

i still hate the red and green phone buttons... why do they have them.. 2 unnessesary buttons why not use the 2 function buttons and display on the screen what they can do in that particular screen... like all old SE phones. but the Satio looks really nice, a fine upgrade from my w960, but is it multi tuch??
SKIBBE on Jun 02
Satio, Aino and Yari are also, in fitting with previous patterns for S-E phones, all girls names.
There are many Kanji that represent these names, so I won't bother to type them here...
Ofiaich :-)

Japanese names sounds strange. And they are going to sell these products in EU??
Actually, almost all SEs new models look like clones of Nokia. Aino has no fullfunctional touchscreen. only few functions are supported. Only revolutionar thing in Idou is 12mp camera, but samsung also has HD recording...
I've been supporter of SE for a long time but now, unfortunately must say that i dont like new the way they chouse
