I'm not too hot on Mpegable myself but i'm almost certain that it's been discussed at length over in the forum at Mobile9. There's sticky's in the video section with settings for a few phones.... I'll try and find a link to the thread. |

This text is copied from a thread I created at halfempty.co.uk but to see it you need 5 posts there. If you need to do a fullscreen video for the S710a then some recommend PVauthor or Nero Recode 2. I think Nero Recode 2 is hands down the best one anyways.
This, in my opinion, is the absolute best program out for converting video to Mpeg-4 (.mp4) or 3GPP (.3gp) other than Nero Recode. Suggested use: SE K750. I prefer this over ImToo, Xilisoft, and Benq AV converters.
I recommend encoding to MP4 for stereo sound audio. If you encode to 3GP with stereo sound, it will be nearly impossible to get high quality video. Settings for MP4 format will follow with a sample video for yall to see what it is like.
Sample:1 minute Family Guy clip at ~2mb in MPEG-4 format with the following settings.
Basic I/O:
•Don't select any of the profiles at any time of inputting the settings, as it will erase them and set the profile settings.
•Input-> Locate the video file you wish to convet
•Output-> It will automatically set the output file in the same directory as the Input file, but you can change that if you so desire.
Interoperability:
MPEG-4-> simple profile.
Video Processing:
•Target Framerate-> User Defined-> 20.00hz (FPS)
•Deinterlacing-> Off (I have it set to off, seems to give a better bitrate throughout the process)
Image Processing:
•Display Dimension-> Uncheck this.
•Cropping/Resizing-> Press "setup"-> Under Absolute Size choose 176x144 (QCIF) unless your horizontal pixels are larger-> Under Rezing Mode choose "Bilinear" and check "High Quality".
Audio Encoding:
•Bitrate-> 96 kBit/s-> MPEG-4 AAC codec
•Channels-> Stereo (or mono if you wish, but then you should just make a 3GP file to save file size)
•Sample Rate Conversion-> 44.1khz
Video Encoding:
•Video Bitrate-> 192 kBit/s-> ISO MPEG-4 codec
•Bitrate Mode-> Near Constant Bitrate
•Preferred Quality-> Adaptive Framerate set to Full-> Compression Quality set to High Quality.
Press the red button on Basic I/O to start!

It is possible to encode an episode of some TV show with decent video quality at 32 mb, lol. That's it though. |

If it's a .vob file, I assume it's a DVD file? If so, you might need to istall the AC3 codec. That's happened to me before with Tmpg Encoder.

Yes, it is a DVD file, and when I search the website, I found AC3 filter, (http://www.free-codecs.com/Audio_Codecs.htm), is that what I need to download?
Thanks again  |

Are the above settings the very best to use for quality clips on the k750i as i tried them and the video was not as good as most of the ones that have been posted on the forum?? |

does anyone know if there is a limit to the length/filesize of a video?
because i have 1 '30' minute episode and it plays fine all the way through
but a couple of films i've tried, 1:30 mins / 2:00 hours both lose sync between sound and video after about 25 minutes or so. the sound is about 1 second delay.
im using imtoo, but im going to try now with mpegable.
if anyone does know if there are limits, please let me know.
thanks (btw, im using a w800i)

its hard to control imtoo software...
better use mpegable, high compression less hassles..
