Hi guys, my cousin just ruined my pc by surfing some porn sites by making the internet security option low. Now the problem is my Pc is infected with spyware and it has affected my (whole) desktop which keeps on poping some rubbish message like 'your pc might be infected with spyware or adware click here to check...' like some popup message when we surf the net. This is really pising me off.. Pls HELP (btw i am having XP).

i find spybot: search and destroy to be one of the best if you have it set right. it also removes some recent file lists in the registry and programmes.

Make sure you've done all you're windows updates too, especially XP service release 2 (or whatever it's called!) if you don't already have it. That helps one hell of a lot too. Panda antivirus is also supposed to be excellent, and it can get rid of/prevent spyware too.

I've also recently gotten rid of Norton Personal Firewall and am now using Zone Alarm, a freeware firewall which is also excellent

U can try the best apl. Ad-aware SE Personal Edition(www.lavasoftusa.com)or HijackThis(www.spywareinfo.com) but not for novices and of course Spybot(www.safer-networking.org)
