Hitachi has unveiled an 8GB version of its 1in Microdrive harddisk drive,which should arrive by the fourth quarter of this year. Engineers are also working on getting a 10GB version to manufacturers.

You can get 8gb normal compact flash cards for ages, and 12GB ones....

I know. But this is a harddisk and very small. Do U know what i mean? Im only amazed.

iPod mini uses microdrives...

maybe apple'll make 8-10 GB iPod Mini's (maybe with a color screen )

But this isnt only about mini iPods. We can use these drives for mobile phones,PDAs,video cam... Btw. Hitachi is working on a data recording method called perpendicular rec.ushering in capacities of 20GB
