Shortcut Firmware Bug ,...
K750I__R1L002 software updated from SE web site without any problems.
I have created 4 shortcuts, to use with the phone's joystick.
Namely ==> left=messaging__right=file manager__up=settings__down=contacts
All these shortcuts where created in exactly the same way ==>
Main Menu # Settings (general tab) # Shortcuts # Edit
So far no problems, all these shortcuts are working perfectly,...
But when I turn my phone off during the night, and then turn it back on in the morning, all the shortcuts are gone !!
Except for the shortcut "Contacts"
This is soooo FRUSTRATING, because every single morning, I have to create all these shortcuts over and over again.
Please Note: When creating, for example, the shortcut "File Manager"
I am pointing to "File Manager" itself, and not to a sub menu like "Sounds"
Can anyone please check, if your phone has the same problem.
This msg has also been sent to SE with the following quesion ==>
Could you please check this out at your end, and fix this problem in the next firmware update.
This msg has also been posted in several forums with the question if other K750I users experience the same problem.
Regards,
Marc. |

This used to happen to me, my right shortcut would always disappear after i turn off the phone. but only that shortcut, but now it no longer happens. I don't know why it happened or how it fixed. |

Have you done a reset or a master reset ?
If you did, maybe this has solved your problem.
I could do a reset myself, but I want to wait until I'm sure that this would fix the problem.

I think my left shortcut reset to the original shortcut but I'm not too sure. I can't be 100% certain I changed it but I thought I did. All the other shortcuts have been fine. |

it's a bug. try setting ONE shortcut, turn the phone off,
then the secont, OFF again ... i recognised, that it just remembers the last one i changed ... so, after four reboots, it's done and you have your shortcuts...
worked on mine ...

I had that problem once or twice , when my phone hanged and I took out the battery. I think it happened once also when I turned it off normally. However, recently it doesn't seem to happen anymore, even after turning off and on. Oh well, I'm not complaining.. seems like the phone decided to 'fix' itself. |

hi Marc,
yesterday I upgraded (via SEUS) a friend's K750i to R1L002. after the upgrade, this is the first thing that we checked. we assigned "Inbox" to the right arrow key, tested it works. we turned off the phone, turned it on, and the shortcut still works.
i would like to point out thought that this is an unbranded, asian edition prgCXC125954_CHINA_CL R1L002 version. two of which, mine is third, that does not suffer from the bug.
i guess we're lucky.

Most K750i have this same bug. All you have to do is set the shortcuts a few times, and after about 5 reboots the phone does fix itself.
Someone also mentioned that setting the shortcuts to what you want, deactivating them and rebooting the phone also works. Then you simply reactivate them and they remain fixed. I never had luck with this method, but after 5 or so reboots my phone is now fine again.
