i wanted myself to use gmail on my k500i, so i used the settings given in this thread, which unfortunately resulted in tsl/ssl handshake error. taking my time to think i guessed (!) that in encryption besides setting tsl/ssl i should have entered pop.gmail.com for the domain of incoming server and smtp.gmail.com for the domain of outgoing server. hope this will be helpful to those who still cannot manage to get the gmail working on their phones.

in addition, of course, in gmail settings enable pop should be checked.

Hey Guys,
I'm also having a problem of sorts with Gmail on my K750i.
I'm using the same settings from howardforums and I know that POP and Forwarding are enabled on my Gmail account;
However, whenever I try and receive mail, all I get is 'Finding Server' for 5-10, then 'Server Not Found'

Please help... I'm on O2 PAYG and I'm running R1N035

Go into your Gmail account on a PC.

Click Settings(Top Right of Page)
Click Forwarding and Pop(Fourth Tab at the top of the Page)
Then click "Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on"

Hopefully this helps,

Cheers,

Dan

I am trying new combination of settings on O2 PAYG for gmail when I get it working I will post...

I have a question for you about your R1N035 f/w...

Have you done anything to yr K750i via Davinci or other to get this update???

Cause normal straight out of O2 shops are unable to do this update to R1N035 via SE website....

SE have said if you visit theire service centers they may update it for you from R1L002 to R1N035... [addsig]

jakontil, i have the same prob with my k750i. i think it will work if phone software update will be made... how about that? does anybody know how to do this?

// SOLVED!!!
All you need to do is:
1. download this file: CERTS
2. unpack certificates wherever you want
3. run MyPhoneExplorer and click "files"
4. copy certificates into the phone (you must copy them into 'root folder' where you can choose phone mem or memory stick). Don't copy them to phone memory nor to mem stick. And copy files one by one!
5. Confirm installation on the phone.
6. Enjoy

It should work with all phones supported by MyPhoneExplorer!
