Have you downloaded the USB driver already? If you haven't, do that first! Next, with your phone connected to the computer via USB, open control panel>system>hardware>device manager, under USB Controllers, uninstall everything related to K750i and restart your computer. Now try from scratch. In most cases this sould work!

Hello, thanks for the advice, but I'm having the same problem. Already desinstall the driver from the K750i by the device manager under usb connector. When I connect the phone again, windows install the drivers automatically, I don't understand.
Do you think that I have to desinstall PC Suite AND the usb driver from K750i??
By the way, I've got the software: R1A044 prgCXC 125952_EU_1_CL |

Uninstall the drivers again and leaving your device manager open, connect the phone via usb cable. When the computer tries to install automatically, click on the K750 USB device and install manuall the driver that you downloaded. I hope this helps! |

Thank you for your quick reply!
Once again I uninstalll the driver from the K750i and I had to restart the computer. Then I opened the device manager and then plug the K750 to the usb cable; for a second I saw 4 or 5 lines with a big ? , extremely quickly the lines disappeared and the k750 was installed.
In fact, I've got 2 problems:
- I think the K750 is well installed but when I disconnect it from the computer and connect it again, it won't be recognised.
- Most important, it is impossible for me to install the usb driver for the update service which is much more important for me!!
If someone have got an idea, I will read it with pleasure... |

Dont restart your computer after the uninstall. Plug the phone to the computer and you have to select the K750i before the lines disappear. It worked for me and I learned this from one of the old psots under K750i S/W overview. Search for that thread and read between pages 7 and 20, hopefully that will help you! |

Thanks, but I already tried this method (don't shut the computer)... I will try to uninstall bot the K750 and the PC suite and erase all registry entry from SE and then reinstall the drivers.
For installing the usb update service driver, do the other driver have to be installed?? Because the "trick" of connecting the k750 and holding down the c key doesn't work with my computer for the moment!!! |

Are you sure you you have not already installed the USB driver for the update? |

I've just successfully install the driver. In fact I do it as you told me and as I read it in the link you gave me: open the device manager and at this time connect the phone (off) and holding the c key! The driver for the usb flash disk k750 has been installed but now I've got an other problem: the seus doesn't find my usb cable; everything seem to be allright and after a while a box appear and tell me NO USB CABLE FOUND...??? I'll try to read and read the k750 f/w overview... |

I've also got the driver installed ok by 'catching' the flash usb device in device manager.
However I now try and run the seus and having ticked all the check boxes and pressed next, I get the next screen up with no details and nothing seems to happen |

I would suggest to check if you have your java installed. If not, try downloading the Java Software from www.java.com. |

One more question, do the phone must be connected and if yes just normal way or with the c key trick to launch the update after having checked all boxes???? |

When you check all the boxes, it doesnt matter if the phone is connected or not, but it it better to be turned on & connected. You can have it turned on normally. |

many thanks for your help yesterday. I have now upgraded the firmware successfuly. For anybody else
Problems I solved were
a) holding 'c' key didn't bring up the new hardware found box in windows. This is caused by having failed on a previous attempt to install the usb flash driver resulting in windows now recognising the hardware but without a driver installed.
SOLUTION - open windows device manager, and then press 'c' and connect the phone. A 'USB flash' device will appear briefly with a big yellow '?' against it. Before it disappears double click the device and then update the driver following the standard sony instructions
b) I then tried to link to the update service and just got a blank screen
SOLUTION - no java installed so get it from www.java.com
RESULT - it all works ok, I just wish Sony had been as knowledgeable. |

It always appears that customers know more than the customer service reps! I had similar problems and SE couldn't help me when I turned here and I received all kind of suggestions which have always helped me get stuff done easier and faster! |
