I just upgraded my P800 to P910i. Now the funny thing is that I cannot connect to internet using P910i as a modem to my laptop which I was doing with P800.

While I can surf internet on P910, when I try to use as a GPRS modem, it gives me this error 'TCP/IP reported error 738. The server did not assign an address'
Im using a Infrared connectivity.

I have tried to get this configured using settings from airtel, the GPRS service provider but that did not work.

Looks some IP address not getting updated while connecting. Please help.

Me too getting the same error while I am using cable connectivity. Although I can surf on my phone very well. Also, it say to check the help file for the error number, but the help file is not found. Anyone got any idea about this?

What dialup number are you using....
I suggest you perform the following check

Control Panel>Phones & Modems> double click on p910 ( i presume you have already set the connection to use the p910 as the IR modem)> Diagnostics> Query modem.
Then check the Query result...scroll down and you will see something as "x" "airtelgprs.com" where x is the number you need to put in the dialup code *99***x#
Also...do youhave the Mobile Office through Airtel or just the Airtel Live?

Guys, Thanks, anyways. The airtel, query modem, wap setting did not work for 4 days. So removed all the stuff on PC, got new airtel gprs setting and installed SE CD on PC. Went to c:/Prog~files/Sonyeric../dialup.... and executeted phonesettings.exe. And everything works fine. The phone numeber to dial is *99***10# that comes up automatically.
