I have been experiencing problems with mp4 and 3gp playback on my k750i. Using Nero Recode, Mpegable and Im-too I have encountered the same frame stutter during complex scenes of motion.
I started by encoding video streams at 150kbps, 25fps, 176 x 144 resolution with 40kbps audio but found from memory stick and phone memory the video would slow down and even stop at scenes of high motion.
I have run more tests using lower bit rates of 80 kbps and found the video smoother but still with the occasional slowdown.
On this post users have claimed the K750 is capable of playing mp4 movies with bit rates exceeding 200kbps. I agree that this is possible especially as my Nokia 6230 will play 3gp files encoded at 250kbps +
I have tested a variety of files and experienced the same problem using a friend’s k750i.
I’m currently only using the included memory stick duo but plan to upgrade to a memory stick duo pro 1GB. Could anyone confirm if this might improve the playback of 3gp/Mp4 movies? I cannot believe a 6230 would outperform a k750i in this area.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ps problem existed with original firmware and still exists with Firmware version R1L002 despite R1J002 claiming improvement to video playback.

I haven't had any problems with my movies as long as I don't go full screen with them... thats on a PRO stick though... I'll give it a go on the one that came with the phone...

That would be extremely helpful, thank you for your time. I’m starting to suspect a bandwidth problem now and hope the purchase of a memory stick duo pro will solve this issue. Like yourself fluid frame rate and sound quality is very important to me. The trailer for PS3 killzone didn’t play at all well on my k750i. Audio was in sync but areas of high motion (and I would imagine highest bit rate) caused the video to stutter. Other files such as the eric pridz music video posted on the esato forums were also the same. Despite my Nokia 6230 performing better I still highly recommend the k750i.

I used the settings from spawndk site and converted the video in nero recode...but when viewing in full screen...still small small squares are distorting the video but the playback is smooth ...is there anyway to get crystal clear videos in full screen mode

I hav just Converted the movie Cruel Intention from AVI to 3PG. Using Xilisoft 3GP Video Converter, Registered. And Somtimes it skits and slows down and the audio goes away for about 7 seconds , The Quility Is alright. 30 FPS , Video Codec - h263 , Size 176x144 , Video 150 Bit Rate , Audio Codec - amr_nb , 40 Audio Bit Rate=111MB

The Sound is perfectly Synced , I wouldent mind some better settings though. Somthing that may inprove it?

Help Would be appriceited.

@xelasha Dont bother with that Xilisoft software... use this http://k750i.net/programy/software/mpegable.zip Its much better

Not sure if the above programme is just a trial, if so lemme know Just a quick mention that there really is no point in encoding using 30 FPS on the W800, even though it can be done, its more important to get the video bitrates as high as possible to make the encoding as good as you can. If you use a higher framerate, then you will have to compensate elsewhere meaning reducing the bitrates…

These are the very best settings to use for the W800 using mpegable:-

Basic I/O:
•Don't select any of the profiles at any time of inputting the settings, as it will erase them and set the profile settings.
•Input-> Locate the video file you wish to convet
•Output-> It will automatically set the output file in the same directory as the Input file, but you can change that if you so desire.
Interoperability:
MPEG-4-> simple profile.
Video Processing:
•Target Framerate-> User Defined-> 20.00hz (FPS)
•Deinterlacing-> Off (I have it set to off, seems to give a better bitrate throughout the process)
Image Processing:
•Display Dimension-> Uncheck this.
•Cropping/Resizing-> Press "setup"-> Under Absolute Size choose 176x144 (QCIF) unless your horizontal pixels are larger-> Under Rezing Mode choose "Bilinear" and check "High Quality".
Audio Encoding:
•Bitrate-> 96 kBit/s-> MPEG-4 AAC codec
•Channels-> Stereo (or mono if you wish, but then you should just make a 3GP file to save file size)
•Sample Rate Conversion-> 44.1khz
Video Encoding:
•Video Bitrate-> 192 kBit/s-> ISO MPEG-4 codec
•Bitrate Mode-> Near Constant Bitrate
•Preferred Quality-> Adaptive Framerate set to Full-> Compression Quality set to High Quality.
Press the red button on Basic I/O to start!

Firefreak, could you post your pf file so we can use your settings?
I can't get access to "bitrate tolerance" or to "crop" or "pad" options.
Please
