Edit: I've uploaded a 3gp file here, bitrate's about 256kbps and framerate is 15fps). Plays perfectly on my 750i.

Fluent video is more important to me than resolution. 15fps just doesn't cut it. It looks too choppy...

Look at my Eric Prydz video and you tell me 25fps isn't worth it.

I would agree if 15fps video looked choppy (quality first and foremost), but it doesnt if you use the right tools and the right settings.

anyways, K750 has no problems playing 25fps encoded video either, if the right tools and settings are used, therefore either way K750 is a very nice device for videoplayback.

Well, you can use the 25 fps in the PC, but in the K750l it certainly isnt't 25 fps. When you play it in your K750i you can get max. 15 fps after that it starts to drop frames. Yes, it plays, but it's not 25 fps. So you're basicly just wasting space in your memorycard.

eh, I have a 25 fps 3½min clip on my phone, and it certainly does not drop any frames. Plays smooth as silk, and keeps synch perfect.

Does playing it full screen make a difference to the quality?

You can put as many "eh's" here as you want, but it still won't be 25 fps in the device. SE would definitely mention that in the specs, but they don't. You know why? Because it ain't capable of doing that. You can play the clip encoded with 25 fps, but it won't show you 25 fps in the device.

What you are saying is that K750 drops frames as there is no tomorrow without users as Numb noticing that in the playback ? I have hard time to believe it.

I to, as Ive been involved with videoencoding for years, and have a pretty good eye for errors.

Specs also doesnt say that it can play 250kbit/s videos, and yet it does without a hickup.

I think your mistaken the S//E recommendations for creating 3gp/mp4 content with the limitations.

You guys find it's worth it to encode and watch all this stuff on the k750?

I mean...would be cool...carrying around all the candid clips ihave on me comp to show at any time, but is the screen reasonable enough to show 2-3 people at a time? Or to even wtach something for 30 mins?

How about a whole movie? hahahah

Well, it's kind of hard to notice it since there's no device that can actually decode 25 fps to compare it.

Fanboys usually have some difficulties to face the reality...

Yep, me too. I've working with mobile video encoding/decoding for several years now. I also have a pretty good idea what mobile devices are capable of at the moment in that area.

You can of course contact SE about this. But don't call their help desk, they don't know anything about these kind of technical issues.

u guys r funny, ive been looking for the best optimal settings for films on my k750i.

Firstly i agree 15fps isnt good enough it is choppy. 25 is certainly better (and the difference is VERY noticable) but i use 20 which seems to run just as nicely.

I do however need some advice of bitrate settings for sound and video as my k750 does like any video bitrates over 150, its choppy and looses sound and even gives me the "playback failed" thing sometimes...(during fast moving scenes)

Im using mpegable and encoding at 100kbps for video and 48kbps for stereo sound seems to fun just fine but i want better quality!

Anyone got any good settings i can give a go?

Could playback be improved with future firmware? I'm on the still slightly buggy r1j002.

I am allready involved with the S//E development department and well aware what the k750 is capable off or not, dont need to contact no help desk.

Besides, I think that argumenting your case by calling Arne Anka a fanboy, automatically rules out any credibility in your argumentation.

----------------

yes, firmware could improve playback, but for smoother playback you could try a different encoding method, other than mpegable, I find mpegable to be slightly flacky in quality.

here are 2 good guides, they are based on 15fps 130kbit/s mp4 video and 40kbit/s aac audio, they both give very good quality, better than mpegable, but you can adapt settings to your needs.
