The test: Can the K750i Replace a Digital Camera? (site comparison survey) |

Hello all,
First of all, let me introduce myself as a huge fan and connoisseur or SE phone. I've owned almost them all since the T28 World.
But lately I've been looking for a soultion to replace by DSC-T33, and I think I've found it in the K750i. I've taken three pictures of the same item and you fellow Esatonians can make the judgement of whether or not I should leave my camera at home.
This is the DSC-T33
This is the V800
This is the K750i
All pictures were shot at VGA resolution for a batter comparison, since they all have different MP capacities.

Leave that camera at home mate. It looks to me as if if the K750 beats it hands down. I too have a K750 and it is great!!! Did you use macro mode while shooting the pic with the K750? |

Hi XL.
Welcome to esato
Nice comparison pictures. Shows the K750 is a true digital cam...
(also like the B&O mp3 player in the pic)

Later today I will post up outdoor photos taken with all three cameras as most digital cameras (even the worst MP camera, the Motorola V710) performs better outdoors.
But thanks for the replies, folks!
BTW: I didn't utilize macro mode for the shots. |

you can't compare this way cause your digital camera has other optics which require to use Macro-Mode at this distance. It's not a fair comparison. Despite this, the K750i makes great pics, anyway. |

I have a DSC-T1 which is the first of T-series and probably no better than DSC-T33, and there's no way my digital camera would take crap pictures like this! Actually I posted a comparison between my K750 and my DSC-T1 on a french forum 2 weeks ago, and although the K750 pictures are very decent for printing, the DSC-T1 takes significantly better pics! Why? Because it has a wonderful 5 megapixel CCD sensor with 3x optical zoom and Carl Zeiss lens!

Okay here's a comparison pic: it's a macro picture of a bear, and it's a part of the original picture (the DSC-T1 is a part of the picture in real size, and K750 resized)
As you can see, the K750 takes decent pictures compared to a proper digital camera but still loses.
And this picture doesn't even take into account the fact that there's a 3x optical zoom on the DSC-T1, and a real flash (no accessories needed)

i am sorry man but u guys who posted pics
Both pics, of "radio" and teddybear SUCK. K750i can do MUCH better than that.
Looks like pic taken with my OLD Nokia 3650 or something.
Absolutely BAD pics!

The pictures I posted are zoomed in and ONLY A SMALL PART of the picture, for better comparison!
Of course the K750i takes good pictures, for instance the FULL bear picture is way better than it appears to be, but of course it wouldn't be interesting for a comparison...

BTW here's a link to the full size bear picture from K750i:

And the same picture from DSC-T1:

--> Now you see why it's useful to zoom in
