This is really doing my head in. I want to copy some of my mp3's to the memory stick of my phone, but it is not found when using the phone.

When I copy music to the phone memory it shows in the Media Player, but if I copy it to any location/folder on the memory stick it cannot be found on the phone. I have tried all the different folders on the memory stick but when trying to locate using the File Manager or the Media Player it cannot be found. photos taken by the camera and stored on the Memory Stick are listed though....

Any ideas?

I got it figured out (BTW, RTFM did not work in this case)

I formatted the memory stick using the mobile phone and then copied some mp3's over and was then able to be found using the Music Player.

Also if you create a folder called MP3 on the root of the memory stick and put them in there, the phone will see them.

Note:

If you update to R1J002 and format the memory stick, it creates a folder called MP3 on the root of the memory stick.

The files on the memory stick are only visible in the phone if there is NO OPEN CONNECTION to a computer!

When you connect the USB cable, the computer will see a USB drive. You should have the following folders:

\DCIM
\MP3
\MSSEMC

DCIM is where all photos taken from the phone camera is stored (there is/are another subfolder/s to be found, just like digital cameras)

MP3 is where MP3 files are to be placed, but the demo MP3 files that appear on the phone's media player are not stored in this directory as they're in the phone built-in memory.

When you download ringtones from PlayNow, they's placed in the \MSSEMC\Media files\audio folder.

When you record video using the phone's camera, they're placed under \MSSEMC\Media files\video\camera folder.

All my caller ID pictures are placed under \MSSEMC\Media files\image folder, as well as the files edited by the PhotoDJ application.
