Love the phone but hate the headphones. Does anyone know if there is an adaptor so that it could take my Sony Fontopia closed inner ear type (comfort and sound quality)?

Thanks

Not as of yet but I imagine there will be an adapter eventually. I have yet to find any audio device that comes with good quality earphones. My 40gb iRiver H140 cost me £250 but even the earphones with that were crap so I went out and bought some Shure's.

I considered doing a splice job on them myself to combine the bundled ones with my nicer Sony earphones but just noticed that the W800 seems to come with exactly the same kind of earphones but with the right end on to connect to the phone, so I think I will wait until the phones released and buy the headphones seperately for use with my K750i.

I didn't like the bundled headphones either so i did some soldering yesterday.
I took some photos etc while doing it, they can be found here:

They look like Sony MDR-EX71SLB fontopia earphones to me. I used to have a set and they are very nice. They could do with a little less bass and more midrange but for the price they are super.

I don't seem to have any problem with the bundled headphones; think they're quite good quality personally.
Don't forget to play with the equaliser settings too if they're too bassy.

I wasn't talking about the K750i bundled earphones but the Sony fontopia ones in the tutorial pics. If you could listen to my Shure EC3's on the K750 you would never use the SE bundled ones again.

I don't use the K750i as an MP3 player anyway as pound for pound, getting a decent capacity on it isn't worth the money if you consider I have a 40gb iRiver. Plus, I don't mind carrying another device even though there are people on this forum who think paying an extra $500 for 2gb's worth of MP3's is worth it just to have one device in your pocket. It doesn't make much sense to me :?

A 2 gig sandisk card is about $300, and I would much rather buy that and use in my k750i than an Iriver 40 gig for ~$500 (that's the prices in sweden).
But everyone is not the same, I guess thats good actually

Horses for courses. As I have said before on this forum, having 99% of my cd collection on me and much better sound quality (both in earphones and player) is more important to me than the miniscule extra convenience of one device instead of two. And that is ignoring the gigabyte per dollar/pound/krona saving.

I don't think that the iRiver has a lot better sound qaulity, but as I said, people are different, it is nothing to argue about. I could by an iRiver and not use it or a memory card and listen to music, so it is an easy choice for me.

I'll tell you what device comes with good headphones, the Sony PSP, they are really good, the bass is amazing, and they fit really well, I'm very impressed and will be using them for all my things now!

Well these would suite you just right its the upcoming SE HPM-70 with 3.5 jack adaptor in mic they look really cool and apparently uses same earphones as MDR-EX71 which I use for my Ipod and they sound real good and are really comfortable
