soon my mobile contract fails, so im thinking of getting the k750i

now the problem is: i am on t-mobile, and if i ask if they could refresh my contract with a year or 2, they'll probaly give me the d750i....

now my question: is the branding realy that bad?, is there every 5 seconds a shortcut to a t-mobile website, or should i get the k750i on a new contract?

hope you guys/gals can help me
i traded in my n82 for a c702 that is how much i

If you have read the topic regarding the k750i bugs, most of the bugs seem to occur on branded models. I reckon it would be best to get a new contract with an unbranded k750i

I have no idea about the inside, but must say the outside of the d750 looks nicer than the k750. Also to consider imho.

K750 does look better. d750 looks more for the younger people. a bit too toy-like with the baby-blue colour.

Ive just got a D750. Im very happy with it, but as for the branding:

The middle softkey is a tzones key - hold for a few secs to connect to tzones.

In the main menu there are two tmobile icons - one is tzones, the other is 'mobile jukebox'. I guess that is a link to some sort of mp3 download site.

When you go into your pictures/videos/sounds/games/applications folders there is one link in each folder to connect to a tmobile site to get further pics/vids/games etc. Rediculous isnt it? I cant imagine why anyone would want to get pictures from some expensive wap service especially when a usb cable is included so you can get anything from your pc.

The phone comes pre loaded with tmobile theme and wallpaper but these are easily deactivated and changed. There is a brief tmobile screen on start up and shutdown, not sure if these can be changed.

I think the handset is locked to tmobile.

Comes with one crappy car game - they obviously want you to get more from tzones.

TMobile written on the case below the keypad, and a 't' on the tzones softkey - fairly subtle.

Thats all i can think of for now! The branding isnt much of a problem for me. Id rather it wasnt there but once you know which icons are shortcuts you just dont click them! The most annoying thing is the lack of a few decent games to pass the time on the train - gonna have to try and find some free ones somewhere. More than happy with the phone in general though.

Hope this helps.

What lukas2 reports seems similar to the 'branding' we got in the K700 'unbranded' phone since R2L; all the same issues but referring to SE-sites or sony-sites and the 'online' button referring to your homepage, which could be set to another than the default page but not to another function.

As long as they do not block the changing of shortcuts and leave most icons original one might live with that depending on how much you like the T-Mobile brand. It sounds less intrusive than Vodafone branding on some other models like k700 or f/k500.

Maybe they understood they should trim down if they wanted users to accept it.

ok the deal now is:
i can get the d750 (t-mobile) through my network for free, on a one year contract (22.5€ a month), wich is a good offer, in other shops the k750i is around 150€.....

but in those other shops i can get the k750i for -72€ on a 2 year contract......

so i'll think i go for option 2

thnx for the replys gus gals , if it wasn't trough you, i would bought the t-mobile crap version

Something else to mention is that the loggers (e.g. DaVinci) will be able to flash these newer phones in the near future, so I'm sure it will be possible to flash the D750 with the K750 firmware. [addsig]

I got my D750i today. It doesn't look like a toy at all. The branding is not over the top. The usual links to t-zones appear in the menus but this is the same with Orange and Vodafone handsets.

Any way any of you have the T-Mobile theme still around that you can send me?

TIA
