I got my k750i today from o2.

Using the two files in the first post I have managed to pair and sync the phone with the address book. I can also get the address book to connect with the k750, however I cannot send SMS messages nor have incoming messages received on the Mac. I don't get errors, it's just nothing happens.

Any ideas, or is this one of those things I'll just have to wait for apple to sort out?

Andy, is yours a branded O2 handset from an O2 shop or O2 online or is it unbranded from an independent retailer such as Carphone Warehouse or Phones4U?

Hey Jools,

Is there a SE sales and service center there in your area or do you have to buy from specific retailers? Here in Finland we can go down to the local SE sales center (called Maifon), and buy a SE direct.

No we don't seem to have any 'proper' SE centres. There are a few independent phone stores that are designated service centres that can do firmware updates etc. But that's all...

Yipes. That sort of puts you in a box then. Well, if you want a real from the factory SE phone, let me know and we can work something out. I may be able to get you a discount on them.

I think I'm gonna hold out for an official software update from Apple. It's starting to appear that this may be an Apple issue rather than an O2-branded phone issue. I guess some people were just lucky that the iSync hack worked for them. However, I've yet to determine why it works fine for some and not for others.

Have you done the basics, i.e.:

1. checked the MAC address of the BT device?
2. Paired from both directions?
3. Left on Discoverable?
4. Pray

I've done 2,3 & 4. Not sure how'd I do the 1st one... but Bluetooth does appear to be working fine in general. I can send files backwards and forwards ok, and Salling Clicker works, not sure about Address Book Caller ID and SMS as I haven't tried those...

I had a problem with 10.3.9 before when I switched out one s700i for another. It did not work until I went into one of the pref files and used the new BT MAC address.

This is an example of a phone MAC address: 00-0f-de-97-b3-69

The phone is branded in that it has the o2 bookmark as the first icon in the menu and "o2 approved" on the box... however o2 don't usually make many alterations.

My o2 provider is Call Connections, who are the provider for The Link and possibly others.

I have noticed the slightly strange behaviour on this one as well.

I initially d/l'd the plug-ins, and moved them to the relavant folders. Paired up the K750 and then synced the phone. Everything went fine.

Today, I modified the address book on my Mac, so I decided to update my phones. I firstly reset my P910, it works perfectly.

I then try my K750. My forst problem was when I clicked on the K750 icon in iSync, I only get 3 red ? where the sync options should be. So I decide to try removing the K750 and then re syncing it. I remove it ok, including all pairings from the mac, and all traces in users etc.

I also re download the altered K750 plug-ins, and again place them in the relavent folders.

Now iSync sees the K750 and adds it to iSync, BUT, when I try and sync, it connects to the phone, and them gives an error message of 'iSync cancelled, could not connect to the port of the K750, the server is down, or the required services are not supported'

Very strange.

You guys have piqued my curiosity. I will see if I can get a completely unbranded retail phone from SE to see if there is a problem with iSync or the k750i.

Jools do you have Pacifist so that you can extract the iSync file from the install disk?

hi everyone.

i'm just thinkin to buy the k750i and I want to know
if there is the possibility that apple will release a patch/update for os 10.4 to officially fully support the k750i in the near future.
i mean, has apple done so with other mobiles before
which were not supported
(have there ever been updates to os x or isysnc to support new mobiles) or has this bever been happened
before?

greetings

icram.

(It is sad if I have to choose the motorola v3 or the k700i only becaus of my G4 syncing (or even worse
if I have to trade my mac for a pc...)(never! )

the problem is with isync !!!

i have a completely unbranded phone and i had the same problem !!!
