when i go on holiday to majorca they have loads of sand sculptures

Holy Moly! Thats what u call a sand castle!

There's no way that there's nothin but sand in it though. They must have added somethin to make it stay, no amount of care & patience could make sand form things like the bars of the gate, they're even curved!

I agree...if you take a closer look you will see bottles of some kind of fluid lying around,it must be a stabalizer or hardner.Regardless it takes a lot of talent to construct something as detailed as this.

You might find those spray bottles contain nothing as much as water in them to keep the sand damp and workable.
