Is anyone using a NON 3 handset with the 3 network???
If you are could please let me know if you have received a tx message from the network saying that you have to use a 3G Service handset and if you dont your service will be suspended in 2 days???

Yup got that just today, well they can piss off frankly my contract runs up in August and I dont plan on renewing it. I will switch to Orange.. plus I just bought a Gold number which I will port later..

i sold my 3g handset... so have an issue... i have just inserted my sim into my dads LG... and insert it back into the V800....
If they disconnect you will still have to pay for the line rental???
Thats what i was told... by them... they are a pain in the ass!!!
No other network has these types of issues... apart from 3...

Well I got two dead LG's somewhere in my house..it will be interesting to see if they only target z800/v800 phones. Damn shame I dont have my Z1010. I am goin to pop over to the 3g forum and see what they saying. |

I will wait on there response, I wonder if 3 will know if I switch to the Nokia 6680? Oh well sod them I aint going to do anything because they say it. I will wait and see what they do in 48hours. |

Just to let you know it will take longer for them to notice then 48Hrs... it took them about 2 months to notice i had done it... They are SLOW...

Mate two months, its been a year for me. I have never used a three phone from day one. I had the Z1010 and moved to the V800/Z800. So let them go ahead and cancell it. I will just pay 3 months off at 45£ and astalavista 3. |

Blimey you must have been lucky... must be starting to clamp down.... or the fact that you keep changing handsets, maybe that why???
Its strange im wondering how many people are using non 3 handsets that have recieved a message from three... they are W***ERS...

haha shit!!! I just got my v800 today and I am going to unlock it to my 3 sim card..
reading all this has made me pretty pissed off..if they do cancel my contract that is fine by me. |

@kash - the only problem is, they could well bar you from making phone calls, but still take the money for the line rental....
btw, do Orange or Vodafone have this rather ridiculous rule for their 3G services? Or are they fine with you using an unbranded handset on their 3G network?

That would not be very nice of them!..
Although I have heard that Z800 is coming on three..(but then again I heard the same about z1010, god knows when)..and if it does, then all these problems will be solved.
Three never responded to my email that I asked why they do not have any SE phones in their range..
Its stupid. I used Motorola E1000..and to be honest I preferd my T610 over it! |
